It's almost working time for those who are 420 friendlies should be paying attention to the vote on 8 question, which will make it illegal again to smoke recreational marijuana in the state of Massachusetts. Please be advised that this will hurt the local businesses that have been established since the time of the open recreational use in this state and I would like to let the people know that this is an attack on our liberties as pot smoking members. On the surface they seem similar... dress up in old style costumes, knights fights and jousting, turkey legs, seasonal... but the richard's faire is $46 per adult v the CT faire at $18.

has anyone been to both? they are the CT faire is only 10 minutes further than the richard's fsire for me.

Yesterday, I saw you as I was boarding the T, and to my luck your sweet Aunt and Uncle visiting from Michigan engaged me in conversation on the train. The post office closed in 2019 due to structural failure. A tree was growing into the building. A developer, Eden Properties, came and pitched a redevelopment to residents and the city. Both said fine, just so long as they keep the post office. Eden worked with the United States Post Office (USPS) to build a retail space – admitted smaller than what it had before – based on the USPS’s specifications.

After literally year of limbo, last year it looked like there was a positive end to the story with the USPS tentatively agreeing to reopen the post office in Eden’s building.

This has not gone down well with Allston and Brighton residents. Officials from the City Council, the State Legislature, the local Postal Workers Union and the U.S. House of Representatives stopped by the rally on Monday to voice their distress.

I am writing this because I am incredulous and looking for some guidance, advice, or to see if anyone else has gone through something similar.

I have been a loyal employee at State Street for decades. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and have been out on disability to focus on my treatments and health since 2024.

I found out that State Street is terminating my employment. What hurts the most is that they are offering me absolutely zero severance pay for my 25 years of service. The only thing they are providing is 3 months of prorated COBRA health coverage.

Has anyone else dealt with State Street terminating employees while on disability? Any insight or advice on what steps I should take next with HR or insurance would be greatly appreciated. I'm not going the lawyer route as I'm not healthy enough to deal with it. After I received the letter, I contacted HR about severance, but they just responded that they will not offer anything besides subsidized employee price of Cobra for 3 months.
