Appreciation Post for The Corner Food Court in DTX

It’s not posh, but it’s not trying to be posh, either.

The main floor is very clean, the guys in white shirts and ties are ever-present and watchful, and even the “for lease” shams over the unused storefronts are neat and tidy.

The largely unoccupied basement where the bathrooms are is watched by a security guard, and an odd but sensible touch is that there’s no mirror in the men’s room (no need to worry about randos breaking the mirror or scratching graffiti into it).

Even if some stuff does go down there (I haven’t witnessed any personally) I can tell that the manager is doing the best job they can of running a non-posh food court—hats off to them.

Requesting: Classic SpongeBob ice cream bars.

Both my girlfriend and I have never tried the sponge bob ice cream bars, and it’s on our food bucket list (an odd one, I know). We’re in Boston for the weekend, and amongst much better boxes, we’re looking to check the sponge bob bars off the list.

Does anybody know where I can reliably get some? Preferably anywhere in Boston proper or north towards Somerville, but we’re willing to travel if they’re found reliably anywhere in the greater Boston area.

what’s one mbta habit you picked up after living in boston?

when i first started using the mbta, i was constantly checking routes and trying to plan everything perfectly. after a while, i started realizing that locals seem to have their own little strategies for dealing with delays, transfers and unexpected problems

i’m curious what habits people picked up over time

is there something you do automatically now when using the t that you definitely didn’t do when you first moved here?

Trying to find guy who stole my wallet, phone, Apple Watch, and 10 year old son's phone

There's a dude who hangs around Peter's Park - black dude who's super tall (think like 6'7) and has a chin strap, skinny/wiry frame, plays basketball sometimes, but spends a majority of his time just sort of lurching and lingering around on his bike. Was playing ball there today and he and his buddy went into my shit and took off with it (what angers me most is that one of the stolen item's was a child's phone). Can anyone who plays ball at Peter's/knows that area ID this dude? Greatly appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction. Don't mean any harm of course. Just would like to have a chat with my boy.

[Missed Connection] On the elevator yesterday at Fenway

Trying this here since my post on r/redsox got removed by the mods. Maybe we can have more fun here.

So was having a day at Fenway and was in the elevator when this green figure walked on and approached me for a fist bump. I wasn’t able to get your name but I did snap a picture as I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. You were a great listener but I could tell you have a story of your own you want to share. All great listeners do.

Anyway, hope to find you here or perhaps someone who knows who you are. /s

Tache4MA has a show in Southie on the 27th debuting their Senate campaign's album!

If you haven't heard, Joe Tache is an independent socialist on the ballot for U.S. Senate in November, and it looks like he's putting on a concert and putting out an album! and they dropped a single & music video for it too: https://youtu.be/2ja3dSFBOQ4?si=vZrY2x2JZshWkSAW

Saw this online and wanted to share since you don't see this kinda thing(event wise or music wise) from a political campaign that often and I thought it was pretty neat to see it happening in the area especially.

AMC Boston common age verification question

I want to see the Odyssey in IMAX at the amc Boston Common, but i have niticed that on the AMC website they say that you have to be 17+ wo watch without an adult, and I am 15. If I buy my ticket online, does anyone know if there is a ticket checker stationed ahead of the theaters? How strict are they about age?

High clearance overnight parking near Fenway?

Going to an event at Fenway in late September at Fenway and looking for any place to park overnight closing to the park. Can’t use garages due to the 12’ clearance. I don’t have the front rack on right now so it’s a standard length pickup. I was looking at the pay by event lots by the park but there’s no info on overnight parking for them. Any experienced Bostonians able to help?

What small, totally inconsequential thing are you really sick of in Boston.

As seen in a different geographic area subreddit. Nothing too serious, just a little thing that grinds your gears. For me it's people who get on the T before others get off.

Affordable Cat Dentals?

Hi Boston people! My senior cat is in need of a dental cleaning. Potentially 1-2 teeth need to be removed. I’m looking to keep the cost under 1.5k if possible. We’re willing to drive to NH or RI for cheaper options (as long as they are legitimate and reputable!)

Has anyone been able to find an affordable dental for a lower price?

Thank you everyone!!
