Looking for help with Feetech servos

I'm building an Amazing Hand (open source robotic hand) as a learning project and I'm stuck.

I'm using the specc'd Feetech SCS009 servos and I'm into the calibration step. I have two servos plugged into a TTL linker board that goes into the Tx/Rx of an arduino mega. When I search for the servos in the Feetech software, I can only find a single unit when I expect to find two. This is causing me to only be able to control the pair in parallel when what I need is to be able to control each servo independently.

I've tried searching with only a single servo plugged into the board and saving it as "1" and then plugging the other one in and saving it as "2", but when I plug them both in after that I still only have parallel control. I've been beating my head against this for a few hours now and I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. I also just joined the pollen robotics discord and I'll be asking over there as well, but reddit usually does me right.

I'm wanting to build an EZI-65 for my L1 certification, but I'm not too keen on always having to fly it on 54mm motors. I'd like to retain the option to do so, but I figure I'll mostly be flying it on 29's since the fields I have available locally aren't particularly large.

I was originally planning on buying their MMA-3 motor adapter, but the product description says that it isn't compatible with aluminum screw on retainers, which I'd like to use instead of tape.

What options are available for being able to fly it on 29mm or 54mm motors using screw-on motor retention?

I’m trying to fix up this printer and just replaced a missing mainboard with a fresh one (V4.2.7) and it now has this cyclic behavior on startup. If I start the axes at their extreme away from their limit switches, they slowly cycle themselves towards them and then bounce the steppers.

The bed heater comes on.

The screen turns on but displays nothing.

I have a freshly formatted card in the reader with firmware V1.2.3.28 (current from Creality.com/downloads) on it.

This machine is also missing it’s hotend heater, which I discovered when installing the board this morning. I don’t think that would cause this behavior but figured I’d mention it.
