So, today I accidentally started an argument in a TikTok comment section, and I had a lot of people on four different sides arguing about it. Two of them I already know are wrong and don't care to understand their perspective more. The other two sides though, one if which is where I am, I'm unsure about, and would like to get more context on.
The argument was about whether or not including Transmen in spaces where cis/trans women, and non-binary people were allowed, but cis men are not allowed, is transphobic.
I said yes it is transphobic. My opinion is, that by including both cis and trans women, you are saying that they are both women and welcome, but by including trans men but not cis men, you are saying that trans men are basically womenlite, which is transphobic.
The other side is saying that it's up to the transman whether or not they want to be included because there's a lot of transmasc culture that lines up with these spaces.
For context I am a transwoman, and so not directly impacted by this argument.
Also the sides I don't care about are the TERF sides who agreed with me only because they don't think trans people should be welcome either way, which is obviously just wrong.
