Rode NT1 is suddenly sounding muffled

Hi there! I’m a newer voice actor and I’m really struggling right now. My set up is. Rode NT1 mic with a Scarlet 4th gen interface plugged into my windows 11 laptop running Adobe Audition. I took a while off of recording because of life stuff but when I set everything back up after a move to start auditioning again, my mic sounds muffled. I’m kind of tearing my hair out right now trying to figure out what’s wrong. Things I’ve tried:

-Updating the chord connecting the interface to my laptop
-Ensured I’m speaking into the correct side (lol)
-Looked for maybe AI messing with it and automatically editing it. I looked all through my laptop and adobe but when I click on my interface in audio hardware, I don’t see the option to turn this off so maybe it’s somewhere else?
- Changed the recording to mono instead of stereo but that didn’t make a difference
-Messed with the gain in every way I can think of
-Moved the mic from input 1 to 2 to see if that made a difference
-Updated my laptop
-checked for a driver update
-Uninstalled Adobe Audition and reinstalled it
-cried
-asked it politely to stop being a meanie

If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Here’s a link to an audition I recorded a couple days ago so you can hear what I’m talking about. The only processing I’ve done to it is normalizing it to -3 but it sounds muffled before the editing. And I realize the slate is different than the rest, that’s because I was backed too far away and I was too lazy to redo the slate 😂 thank you so much!

Wondering if I sound wonky on my mic

Hi! I was recording auditions today, and I feel like my voice doesnt sound quite clear on my mic, it's maybe a little muffled. Could you let me know if I'm crazy and if I'm not crazy, if you have any suggestions? I have a Rode1 mic and a Scarlett Interface. Thank you!

And I know the slate is a bit far away, that was my bad lmao

Has anyone crocheted blankets for your booth?

Bit of a weird question I know 😂 but it was something I was thinking of doing. My booth is decent but I think could be improved in muffling the sound a bit more because I just have sound blankets right now. I know people like to hang fluffy blankets but I was thinking yarn might be good too and kind of fun? Curious about opinions before dedicating the time :)
