When do you take DAO supplements?
I read that they only help with histamine you get directly from eating high histamine food, but not with histamine liberators.
But I don't even want yogurt, sauerkraut, sausages, seafood, alcohol and the like. So I've only taken the DAO supplement with low histamine food that *might* have higher histamine because I couldn't guarantee its freshness. For example I buy frozen meat but one time it was accidentally left it in the fridge overnight instead of the freezer, or I bought a milk product but when I came home it wasn't perfectly cold anymore. So I took the DAO supplement before eating them.
But literally everything else that I'd love to eat is still not allowed even with DAO supplements, like cocoa, legumes, various fruit, wheat pasta, bread, anything prepackaged because it has additives...
And I can't just try this food to see what it does to me because even after 3 1/2 months I haven't found out any triggers yet. I found some foods that are less bad, but I haven't found *anything* where I'm sure it's good or bad (except for chicken, which sometimes gives me oral allergy like symptoms). So even if I tried one of the histamine liberators, if I get symptoms I wouldn't know where they're from anyway, because they're really random.
It's horrible. I had hoped the DAO supplement would help me eat more again, and that I could use it to find out which food causes reactions because of histamine, or because something else. But it seems like it doesn't work that way. When do you use it?
