Hi all, my name’s Erik. I’m 28, gay, and looking to make some friends to talk to. I haven’t really been social for a while (I exited the workforce when Covid started, went to school online, and took care of some sick/handicapped relatives), but I have been wanting to grow my social circle as of late.
A bit about me:
- I love video games (survivalcraft, rpg, fps), though I have recently been doing more “skill development” stuff of late (cybersecurity stuff and trying to learn to draw/illustrate)
- I’m a huge fan of fantasy/mythological stuff (favorite movies are the LotR series, loved the Percy Jackson series when I was younger, and still have a lot of love for Greek myths)
- Trying to get more in-shape currently, and feel like I have made some decent progress (training calisthenics, but not any “crazy” movements yet)
- I love talking about technology, science, and other technical things (I also like more mundane topics, so don’t feel pigeon-holed)
- I am fairly busy throughout the day (taking care of family members, working on projects towards starting my career, and performing house maintenance), so I may be a bit slow to respond
- I have a fairly low “social battery”, so some days I might just not have the energy left to respond to “new” people (I try to be open, but I definitely have some level of social anxiety that fades with exposure)
I’m hoping to find new friends that share in some of my interests, are willing to “ease into” a friendship (I myself have trouble jumping in “head first” and messaging throughout the day, every day), and want to build friendships at a steady rate, rather than in a sprint. I like to think I can get along with everyone, but I can only do so much at once (including balancing multiple conversations with new people), so please don’t be upset if there’s a delay in my response(s)!
