I got this two weeks ago for roughly $12. I immediately transferred it to what I think is a 11" pot. It didn't have any root rot despite it being kept in a water jug and old soil. I used a branch from an unidentified tree as a stake but I didn't know that it harbored carpenter ants. It's lit by a 15W Sansi grow light for 12-14 hours a day and its petiole and stem are attached to the trunk by paracords. I don't have access to the highly recommended double sided green velcro here in the Philippines.

After living with it for two weeks and knowing what I know now (what little of it), should I restart this? And if I should, can you guys help me how? I don't think it will survive in the long run if I let it live like this.
