I have a 2 year old boy, with a second child due in October. There’s a few major transitions coming up in addition to having a new sibling, and I’m trying to figure out what will be the smoothest for my kiddo.

  1. Phasing out pacifier - he currently has a pacifier during naps and nighttime sleep, but we’re hoping to end it by age 3. Is it going to be harder if he sees the new baby with a pacifier?

  2. Potty training - we tried shortly before he turned 2 but he didn’t have enough language/body control at that point. Now he’s communicating with us more and seems way more interested in the potty.

  3. Switching from a crib to a toddler bed - he has his own room, so no issues with sharing with a baby. But he’ll absolutely get out of bed if given the opportunity, plus if we work on potty training he’ll need to be able to get there.

Lots of potential changes this year! Any and all advice appreciated.
