Thoughts on an interactive pyschological story👀

Okay so I had an idea (based off a question I saw on here a while ago) and I genuinely can’t tell if people would love this or if it would completely flop 😭

How interested would you be in a psychological thriller story where readers actively influence the narrative through polls/choices?

Not quite “choose your own adventure” with hundreds of endings, but more:

✨️readers deciding key choices

✨️trust/betrayal decisions

✨️who the MC confides in

✨️whether characters lie, hide evidence, investigate things etc

✨️choices impacting relationships, scenes, and consequences later on

Think: small town secrets, unreliable characters, spiralling paranoia, morally messy people, emotional fallout, “who can actually be trusted?” type vibes.

Would something like that interest you as a reader or would the interactive aspect put you off?

The idea would be that readers slowly become complicit in the chaos depending on the choices they vote for 👀

Also what would make it FEEL genuinely high stakes instead of gimmicky?

I'll take on 5 stories max to start, so I can dive in properly and not get overwhelmed! 🫶🏼✨️

Hey,

So I'm keen to do some more GENUINE R4R's etc. I have partook in a few (and still have a couple I'm in the middle of) - the experience has been so enjoyable! I've interacted with some incredible writers who have bloody amazing stories.

So, when I say genuine... I mean, if my story is not your thing and you can't get invested and enjoy the experience, don't worry about reading it (and same goes for myself, with yours), to do it truthfully I have to generally have a love for the story as I only like to give honest feedback and reactions. I'm sure there are others who agree with me on this? Writers deserve readers who appreciate their story!

I enjoy a number of genres: my absolute favourite is pyschological thriller, but I'm a sucker for a romance (like most of us🤭), basically... if it can make me cry and twist my mind I'm obsessed😍

If you are keen drop me your link, mine will be in the comments!🥰

My story is a YA pyschological fiction (with dark themes! 16+ advised).

Following the life of a sixteen year old girl called Liliah, fully character-driven and putting you right inside her mind.

Here is the blurb:

I'm Liliah. Sixteen, almost seventeen.

I hate being me.

Why?

Ten reasons:

  1. I'm stuck in Muxleigh - a suffocating seaside town.

  2. My mum only cares when it affects her.

  3. My step-dad runs our house on fear.

  4. I can't even protect my six-year-old sister, Forsythia.

  5. I don't know who I am... or why I'm here.

  6. I attacked the worst boy in town - now I'm hated, and he's still worshipped.

  7. My coping mechanisms? A mess.

  8. My mental health? Barely holding on.

  9. Bexmoore was meant to be a fresh start. It wasn't.

  10. I had two chances at something real... and I ruined them both.

I'm at breaking point.

And the worst part?

I'm starting to think everyone else might be right about me.

But maybe... if I tell my story...

Someone out there won't feel as alone.

Before it's too late.
