LG U8550 operator lock help!
Hey guys, I recently got an old LG U8550 flip phone and I’m trying to unlock the operator/network lock on it. It was originally locked to 3/H3G Italy and I want to use it with an Iliad SIM.
The phone accepts the SIM PIN, but then it shows a "USIM blocked" / lock message and won’t connect to the network because of the carrier lock. I know it’s a very old 3G phone, but I really want to try getting it working for basic calls/SMS.
My main issue is that even if I use online unlock services and get an unlock/NCK code, I don’t even know where to enter it because the phone doesn’t let me access any menus.
When the "USIM blocked" message appears:
- I can only make emergency/SOS calls
- I apparently cannot open any menus
- if I press buttons I hear keypad sounds, so the phone is receiving inputs, but nothing changes on screen
So I’m wondering if there’s:
- a hidden menu or key combination
- a specific screen where the unlock code should appear
- an old LG software/tool for this
- a way to flash/debrand the phone
