Yesterday morning I went out and saw a turtle here. Thought it may be laying eggs because the hind legs were deeper in the grass like it had been digging. About an hour or so later I went back to check on it but it was gone. (I read turtles take about 2-4hrs to lay eggs)

Now, I’m not certain if this is a nest so I’m asking if you guys think it’s a nest and if so, should I keep the grass moist? I also read it could 40-60weeks before they hatch or something. There is a lake but I honestly don’t think they’ll make it to either lake without support.

I have small dogs and put the crate deal around it to keep them out of it and to keep from mowing around it in case it is an active nest.
