Hi all, I’m typing this with very shaky fingers.

I’m American & my partner is British English. We’ve been together 9 years in May & have always done the back and forth, me moreso than him. I was sitting down to gather evidence & make the timeline of our relationship. Upon doing so, I realized that in 2019 I overstayed on accident by 20 days.

At the time, I misunderstood the rolling 6 months & thought it was only 6 months within that given year. Had I understood, I’d have not overstayed. I was young & stupid, 22/23 at the time but that is not a good excuse.

Flash forward to September of 2020. Because it was COVID customs made me talk to an agent. He questioned me but never mentioned me being flagged & let me through with no hiccup.

I obviously plan on disclosing this in my application now that I’ve realized, as not mentioning it will be worse & seen as deceptive. But I’m very worried about the approval now.

I have not overstayed since, I have never worked there, I have an absolutely clean record with no deportations visa refusals or ANY problems reentering since. Our 9 year relationship is very genuine. I love him so much & want to be able to start our lives in the UK.

So I guess my question is this, has anyone else been approved from a situation like mine? Or am I totally SOL?
