Polymaker Polylite ABS OOZING help
Hello everyone,
I recently update my Neptune 3 plus to have an all metal hot end and acre in thermistor in hopes to print ABS for props. I completed two benches but was having oozing occur on the overhangs and random holes inside the layers.
I was advised to do some filament calibrations and have been printing temperature towers, retraction towers and flow towers.
I printed three temperature towers and did not have a complete bridge on any of them. The cooler I got, the closer I got to a completed bridge. I ended up using Cura’s ABA, ABS and PLA + temp towers since they had a wide variety of temperatures. I found that 210 C is the closest I got to a completed tower. (Pics 1 and 2)
I printed a retraction tower in cura next. At 210 I had no problems with the towers completing and zero stringing. However I found a 2mm retraction worked best.
I moved on to a flow tower and that’s where it went haywire. Non of the flow towers worked and they just created a bunch of oozing. (Pic 4)
I threw in a picture of the benchy to show the problem I was having with the holes.
I’ve had no adhesion issues since I come out and the prints are super stuck to the plastic.
I’m currently printing a speed tower to see the results there.
So far I have the following calibration:
Printing temp: 210 C
Bed temp: 100 C
Retraction: 2mm
Flow: IDK
I’m printing with an enclosure and turned off the venting fan. I’ve also been allowing the chamber to preheat for 30 minutes by heating the bed at 100 C
Am I overthinking? Should I just move on to bigger prints?
