Jetonomy: Forums, Q&A, ideas that scale

What Jetonomy is

Jetonomy turns your WordPress website into a community hangout — a place where
your visitors can talk to each other, ask questions, share ideas, post short
updates, and build a group around your topic. Think of it like the "discussion
section" of your site.

Instead of using six different plugins (one for forums, one for Q&A, one for
chat), Jetonomy gives you all of that in one place. It's the same family of
tools as bbPress or wpForo, but newer, faster, and better-looking.

Free plugin = the full community
Pro plugin = extra add-ons that make it more powerful (you need the free one
for Pro to work)

---
The four flavors of community you can run

You can pick one or mix all four:

  1. Forum — Classic back-and-forth discussion. Good for support, announcements,
    general chat.
  2. Q&A — Like Stack Overflow. People ask questions, others answer, the best
answer gets pinned to the top.
  3. Ideas board — Members suggest features or ideas, vote on them, and see a
"roadmap" (Planned → In Progress → Shipped).
  4. Show & Tell (Social feed) — Short, scrollable updates. Like a mini
    Twitter/Facebook feed inside your site.

What you get in the free version

For your members:
- Sign up, get a profile with bio, photo, website
- Write posts with bold text, lists, images they can drag and drop
- Tag people using @ (they get notified)
- Paste a YouTube/Twitter/Vimeo link and it auto-shows the video

- Earn "trust levels" as they participate (new people start at level 0, earn
their way to 5)
- Get notifications inside the site and by email
- Use keyboard shortcuts (j/k to scroll, l to upvote, r to reply)

For you (the site owner):
- Build "spaces" (like sub-communities or rooms) and group them under
categories
- Make spaces public, request-to-join, or invite-only
- Create invite links that expire
- Spam protection through Akismet + trust levels (new members can't flood your
site)
- A moderation queue where flagged posts go for review
- Ban or silence troublemakers
- Setup wizard with sample content so it doesn't look empty on day one
- One-click import from bbPress, wpForo, or Asgaros if you're moving from them
- Lock spaces behind paid memberships (works with MemberPress and Paid
Memberships Pro)
- Search that actually finds things (full-text search)
- Works on phones, tablets, and right-to-left languages
- Matches your theme's colors and fonts automatically

Who this is for and what kind of sites it suits

Course creators / online schools — Add a student discussion area where
learners help each other (locks behind your course purchase).

Software / SaaS companies — Run a support forum, a Q&A knowledge base, and a
public roadmap where customers vote on features.

Membership sites — Give paying members a private place to talk. Free members
see less.

Niche hobby or interest websites — Photography, fitness, gaming, parenting,
cooking — anywhere people want to swap tips and chat.

Local groups / clubs / non-profits — Private spaces for members, invite-only
access.

News & media sites — A "Show & Tell" style social feed under articles for
readers to share their take.

Online stores (WooCommerce) — Buyers-only forum, product Q&A, community-driven
feedback.

Coaches and creators — A community around your content, behind a paywall if
you want.

If you don't code and you're not running an online store, you can still use it
— the setup wizard walks you through it.
