Good MBA/PGDM colleges in India without CAT

Hey everyone,

I'm in a bit of a tough spot and need some genuine advice from people who've been through this or know the landscape well.

I missed last year's CAT due to health issues and I'm not in a position to take a drop year. So I'm looking for MBA or PGDM programs that I can apply to right now without needing CAT scores or any other entrance exams that have already concluded.

What I'm looking for:
• MBA or PGDM programs (both are fine)
• High ROI good placements relative to fees
• No CAT requirement (or accepts exams still open like GMAT, MAT, CMAT, etc.)
• Open to colleges anywhere in India, but preferably Tamil Nadu or Bangalore
• Reputed, AICTE-approved institutes not diploma mills

Additional Questions

  1. Which colleges across India (especially TN/Bangalore) have strong placement records and accept GMAT/MAT/CMAT or conduct their own entrance test?
  2. Are there any good autonomous PGDM institutes worth considering in these regions?
  3. Any personal experiences, hidden gems, or red flags I should watch out for?

I've done some basic research but would really value first-hand experiences or recommendations. Not looking for a shortcut just a realistic path forward given my circumstances.

Thanks in advance 🙏

iPhone 13 Battery Replacement Gone Wrong – Need Advice

I own an iPhone 13, purchased in August 2023. For the past week or so, I've been experiencing battery drainage issues the phone would automatically shut down around 10% and start lagging with very low speaker volume around 15%.

I ignored these signs for a while, but today I noticed my screen looked asymmetrical while using the phone, and when I removed the cover, the screen was visibly bulging out a clear sign of battery swelling.

The Repair Shop Visit

I went to a nearby mobile repair shop in Akshayanagar and asked them to replace it with a third-party battery for now, planning to get an authentic Apple battery next month when my budget allows. The guy quoted ₹2,200, and I asked him to have it ready by 10:30 PM. He agreed.

The Problem

At 10:15 PM, I called to confirm pickup. He told me the phone was ready but asked me to come in person to discuss something. I had a feeling something was off.

When I arrived, he handed me the phone and explained that when they opened it, the screen which was already bent due to the battery bulge stopped working during the repair process. Without informing me or getting my consent, he replaced the screen with a third-party display.

The replacement screen was terrible noticeable IPS bleed, poor resolution, and looked nothing like the original.

The Argument

I was furious. My only ask was simple, either return the original screen (if salvageable) or replace it with an authentic Apple screen and we'd both go to iCare so he could cover the cost, with a bill as proof of authenticity.

His response was that it was a "risk he took" and asked me to "adjust." He then started guilt-tripping, saying things like the resale value of an iPhone 13 is only ₹17K and a new screen costs ₹14K. At one point, he even made a deeply inappropriate remark about harming himself, which completely derailed the conversation.

Eventually, he proposed splitting the screen replacement cost 50/50, and one of his technicians offered to let me verify the screen's authenticity at iCare after the replacement.

We were too exhausted to continue arguing, so we agreed to meet again at his shop tomorrow morning at 11 AM.

What I need help with:

  • Was I in the right here?
  • What should I do tomorrow morning?
  • Is splitting the cost fair, or should he be fully responsible?
  • Any legal or consumer rights recourse I should know about?

Attaching photos and videos below. Any advice is appreciated.

The bulge ( took before handing it out to him)

The original screen which he claims to have automatically broken inside when opening the phone due to the bend.

Him talking bullshit. (Note : the video is is us talking in tamil. The shop owner is a malayali.

he says he apparently \"helped us out\" by swapping the display with a fake one without my permission.

How the phone looks after put on a fake display.
