I thought let's try iPhone this time. I am jumping from Samsung S23 Ultra to iPhone 17 pro max 512 Gb or 1Tb variant. Where shall I buy the phone from?

On flipkart there is no additional sale for the Pro max version.

I want to share an experience that every AppleCare subscriber in India should be aware of.

I paid ₹34,900 for a 3-year AppleCare++ plan on my MacBook Pro, expecting peace of mind. What I got instead was a lesson in fine print.

My device was submitted to an authorised Apple service centre 15+ days ago. I was initially promised a 5 working day turnaround. That quietly became 10+ days due to a "spare parts constraint." After 12 days of waiting, I reached out to Apple Support for an update, they kept me on hold for over 30 minutes and confirmed that the required component wasn't even in their warehouse. The deadline was then extended by another month, yes one more month, now the total wait time is 45 days for repair.

I've followed up multiple times. The response, every single time: please wait.

Here's what I've learned that no one tells you upfront:

→ AppleCare does NOT guarantee any repair turnaround time. Their T&Cs explicitly state that 'response times may vary by country.'
→ When a part is on constraint, the only resolution Apple offers is: wait.
→ Escalating through official channels leads to the same dead end.
→ There is no email support, everything is verbal, which makes accountability nearly impossible. I pushed the authorised Apple service centre to respond to my email. Attached.

It's hard not to feel that Apple doesn't treat Indian consumers with the same urgency as other markets. A ₹35,000 service plan should come with more than a "please wait."

Before you invest in AppleCare, ask one simple question: what is your guaranteed turnaround time? You might be surprised by the answer.

I'm now exploring the consumer forum route.

Has anyone else faced this? Would love to know how you resolved it.
