A follow-up to a post I made a few months ago. 104 → 91.6 kg: A follow-up to my weight-loss journey

104 kg → 91.6 kg | 100 days | M29 180cms
Started my weight-loss journey on May 11 at 104 kg. Today, August 19, I’m at 91.6 kg - 12.4 kg down.

I have never even touched the dumbbells before 11 May’26

I’m still not confident enough to post physique photos, and I know I have a long way to go. But people around me have started noticing the difference “You’ve lost weight,” “You look thinner.” And honestly, that feels amazing.

Nothing fancy, just consistency:

• 10k steps every day — sometimes 12–15k. Few breaks in between because of vacation so didn’t wear my Apple Watch

• Strength training 4-5 days a week - Push Pull Legs Split

• ~130–140g protein, mainly eggs + whey
• Normal Indian food with portion control
• Fruits & vegetables
• Staying in a calorie deficit
No crash diet. No magic.
Just trying to do the boring things consistently.
104 → 91.6. Next stop: 90. 💪

Looking back at that old post, I think the biggest lesson has been:
Sometimes the change is happening long before you can see it.

Tata Nexon DCA engine wouldn’t shut off, then wouldn’t start at all.

\*\*1.\*\* Noticed the infotainment/music screen wouldn’t turn off even when locking/unlocking with the key from outside. Ignored it at the time.

\*\*2.\*\* Drove normally for 1-2km, parked, restarted later — worked fine, no issues.

\*\*3.\*\* Got home, pressed the Start/Stop button to switch off — \*\*engine kept running\*\*. Instrument cluster and my external camera turned off, but the engine stayed on and infotainment stayed lit, almost like it was stuck in neutral with power half-cut.

\*\*4.\*\* After fiddling with AC on/off etc., engine eventually shut off on its own.

\*\*5.\*\* Tried restarting — dash and cluster powered up fine with normal warning lights, but the \*\*engine wouldn’t crank at all\*\*. No clicking, no starter noise, nothing.

\*\*6.\*\* No fault messages like “Key Not Detected” or transmission errors — just the usual pre-start lights.

Car is still under warranty. My guess is some kind of BCM/ignition control module hang since the electronics never went to sleep properly, but wanted to check if anyone here has had a similar issue and what the dealer ended up finding/fixing. Also curious if a manual battery disconnect reset is safe to try before the tow truck gets here.

Thanks in advance.

Progressive Overload during fat loss, Is Shoulder Press Always This Slow?

I’ve been in a calorie deficit for the last 6-7 weeks, focusing on fat loss, and have surprisingly progressed on almost every lift despite losing weight.

Squats are up to 30 kg per side, and today I hit 20 kg dumbbells on incline chest press.

The only lifts that seem stuck are shoulder press and some chest movements. Shoulder Press and Pec fly especially ( I usually try and hit failure at around 10-11 reps but for these whenever I increase weight I can’t manage more than 3, it’s frustrating and embarrassing)😳

Is it normal for overhead press and pressing movements to plateau earlier than other exercises, especially while cutting?

Context:
• 104 kg → 96.2 kg
• PPL, 6 days/week
• ~12k steps/day
• 130-150g protein daily
• Consistent calorie deficit

Strength Training + 10k Steps = Best Fat Loss Combo?

I was already strength training 4x per week and making steady progress, but adding a consistent 10k steps daily has felt like a surprisingly effective addition.

Beyond the extra calorie burn, I’ve found the walks help with appetite management, recovery, stress, and overall adherence. It also gives me a mental reset during the day.

For those who track steps, did you notice a meaningful difference when you increased your daily walking volume? If so, around what step count seemed to work best for you?

Added these 2 in my collection today.

Brazil one is Dope. Unfortunately not many teams have polo these days

Got it from Football Frenzy

My Apple Watch Is Keeping Me Accountable

Today marks 37 days since I started going to the gym.

I started at 104 kg and currently weigh around 97-98 kg. The scale has been fluctuating over the last few days, but I’m trying to focus on the overall trend rather than the daily numbers.

For the last 5 weeks, I’ve been doing my best to stay consistent:

• 5 days of strength training every week
• At least 8,500 steps every day
• 130-150g of protein daily
• Under 2,000 calories most days

I don’t know my exact maintenance calories, but based on my weight, activity level, and daily steps, I think they’re somewhere around 2,500 calories.

This week, I closed all my Apple Watch rings 6 times, and honestly, those rings have become one of my biggest sources of motivation. Seeing the streak continue makes it easier to get moving even on days when I don’t feel like it.

I’m not perfect. I still enjoy a few drinks with my friends most weekends, although I’d like to cut that out soon as well. For now, I’m focused on building habits I can stick to long term rather than trying to be perfect overnight.

Still a long way to go, but I’m proud of the consistency so far. One workout, one walk, one closed ring at a time.

104 kg ➝ 97-98 kg in 37 days.
A perfect week

Best Apple TV setup for watching the FIFA World Cup with English commentary?

I have an Apple TV and I’m trying to watch the FIFA World Cup with English commentary.
I’m currently in India, and honestly the streaming experience on ZEE5 has been pretty disappointing for me in terms of reliability and overall quality.

I’m considering using a VPN and watching through another broadcaster such as FOX Sports (US), an Australian broadcaster, or any other recommended option.

For those who have tried this on Apple TV:

Which broadcaster worked best?
How was the video quality?
Any buffering or VPN detection issues?
Which country would you recommend connecting through?
Just looking for the smoothest and most reliable World Cup viewing experience possible.

Lost 6 kg, strength is going up, but I see almost no physical changes. Am I doing something wrong?

Title: Lost 6 kg, strength is going up, but I see almost no physical changes. Am I doing something wrong?
Been lifting for about a month and I’m honestly a bit confused.

I started at around 104 kg and currently weigh about 98 kg, so I’ve lost roughly 6 kg so far.
I’ve been following a Push/Pull/Legs split consistently, training 3 to 4 times a week, and my strength is improving. For example, my Smith machine squat PR is now 15 kg on each side (plus the bar).

Diet-wise, I’ve been eating around 1,800 to 2,000 calories per day and targeting roughly 150g of protein daily.

The thing is, I don’t really see any physical changes in the mirror.

Part of the reason I’m asking is because a lot of my friends in the gym lift much heavier weights than I do, so I sometimes wonder if I’m not pushing hard enough or doing something wrong.

The only noticeable difference is that my biceps look slightly bigger. Apart from that, my chest, stomach, shoulders, and overall physique look pretty much the same to me.

Is this normal after losing 6 kg, or am I doing something wrong?

For context:
Male
180 cm
Started at ~104 kg
Currently ~98 kg
Eating ~1,800 to 2,000 calories
~150g protein daily
Following a PPL split
Training consistently for about a month

At what point did you guys start seeing visible changes in the mirror? Would appreciate any advice or similar experiences.

Chest
• Incline Dumbbell Press: 12.5 kg dumbbells (last set 8 reps, form breaks down after that)
• Flat Bench Press (barbell): 7.5 kg per side

Shoulders
• Overhead Press: 7.5 kg dumbbells (left arm usually gives up first)
• Lateral Raises: 5 kg dumbbells to failure

Back
• Lat Pulldown: ~40 kg on the last set
• Seated Row: 30-35 kg
• Reverse Pec Deck: 15-20 kg
• T-Bar Row: 12.5 kg
• Bent Over Barbell Row: 10 kg per side

Arms
• Hammer Curl: 7.5 kg dumbbells
• Preacher Curl: 10 kg
• Tricep Pushdown: 30-35 kg

Slow Progress Is Still Progress, I hope

I still remember stepping on the scale on my first day at the gym and seeing 103.4 kg. That number honestly shocked me.

Started weight training thrice a week.
Over the last month, I’ve been trying to stay consistent, eating around 2,000 calories a day and aiming for 150g of protein.

My main sources of protein are,

2 scoops of protein whey 6 eggs soya paneer air fried tikka, sauted paneer salad

Eliminated Sugar, and use stevia for my morning coffee.

Started weight atleast training thrice a week, push pull legs split.

This morning, I weighed in at 97.9 kgs

Some days it feels like progress is slow, and I catch myself wishing the results would come faster. But looking back, being down over 5 kg in a month is something I’m proud of.

Still a long way to go, but for now, I’ll take this win and keep showing up. WFH had made my life pretty sedentary

Just felt like sharing my progress.

Highly motivated by this community. I hope this works out.

Flipkart’s inaccurate size chart is costing me money

purchased a jersey during a sale and ordered it based on the size chart provided on the listing. After receiving it, I found that the size chart was inaccurate and the fit is much looser than advertised.

I don’t want to return the product , simply want an exchange for the correct size. Unfortunately, the required size is now out of stock.

What’s even more frustrating is that if I return the jersey, Flipkart is refunding only around ₹650 even though I effectively paid about ₹2,200 for it as part of a bundled order with other items and an SBI credit card offer. I’m happy with the other products in the order and would have been happy with this one too if the sizing information had been accurate.

Has anyone managed to get Flipkart to arrange an exchange once stock was replenished or provide a more reasonable resolution in a case like this?
