Another stupid walk in the city after bad news

I could keep on and on walking.

My boss told me I'm fired... I've got till the end of the month and then I'm out.

I started a Minijob as a waitress barely a month ago after being home sick for almost two years and she said I made too many mistakes.

I know I'm not the most reliable one because of my ADHD and I've got no one to prescribe me my meds so I'm extra unfocused....well it was nice while it lasted 🥲

A good start

A good start to my day with a couple of laps walking up the locally famous 1000 Steps (and adjoining tracks) on the edge of Melbourne Australia. Just over 10,000 steps with 500m (1600ft) of ascent.

Aside from being beautiful it's an efficient way to burn some calories with the steep track and weight vest burning a lot more calories than the same steps on flat ground.

First 21k walk-a-thon

Hello everyone! I have enjoyed walking since I could remember. For me, walking just makes you feel good inside and out. I would walk for up to three hours (if I really pushed myself) around my community. I have always been curious about marathons, and for a time I wanted to participate in one. I would not do very well in a marathon setting realistically (running/jogging is a no go for me lol), but I know I would do well with walking. I walk for normally an hour to sometimes an hour and a half depending on where I walk.

I have done the 5k walk-a-thons twice with my mom to raise money for cancer and those were fine...but I wanted to really challenge myself.

I signed up for a 21k walk-a-thon this upcoming September. I'm excited as I love walking and September is when my favourite season comes to play (autumn ❤️). For me, I put on my music and away I go.

For those who have walked or done over 10, 15, 20k of walking or running/jogging, do you have any tips for a newbie?

Tired bear day. 914 steps achieved. 0 regrets 🐻 🚶🏻‍♀️

Active all week, almost 20k steps.

Today I stayed home like a tired bear 🐻 914 steps and no regrets.

Sometimes rest is the most productive thing you can do.

5 months of IF 3 days a week! With walking and strength training involved.

35m. I’m looking forward to seeing more results as time passes🔥 I’m down 56 lbs since the last time I weighed myself.

I walk an average of 15k steps a day, and I train 4 days a week, and on my off days I will IF… normally, by the end of my IF, I feel fantastic!

How do I start walking? I make hardly 7k steps a day.

Same as the title!

Due to my bad health, I've started walking, I'm trying my best to walk alot. But barely make 10k it's 7 at best.

And it's also very hard here to get 10k steps because i live in a building and there's no specific places to walk, I have to walk in the corridors of the building or the parking.

And I also need some motivation, what motivated you to hit 10k every single day?

Looking for the most god tier pair of shoes

To preface I walk a minimum of 10,000 steps a day on gross city streets, I have size 14 wide flat feet (literal flippers), and I work a white collar job. I'm looking for a pair of comfortable shoes that can take an absolute ton of abuse, are comfortable, and look well with khakis and button ups. Does such a beautiful shoe exist? Please help me I am tired of breaking a pair of shoes every 3 months.

Staying consistent

Anyone have any advice on staying consistent with walking? Over the last maybe 3 weeks I want to say, I’ve been doing 8-10k walks daily. On Sunday I did the most walks at 25k steps, I’ll leave some pics of the walk here!!
Yesterday however I only did 3k and before then did 6k, I’ve got a few stresses and worries at the moment with a car and my health condition (I have endometriosis, so need to start IVF closer to end of the year!) and I don’t know I’m feeling really deflated. I have gotten much better with my diet too but haven’t managed to cut sugar out completely and did have some sugary foods last couple of days!! I just want to lose a little bit of weight as a lot of weight is on my face, and just feel better after my recovery since I had an operation about 7 weeks ago. Any tips on how everyone is saying consistent with 10k steps?

Fun Find While Walking

Found this cool guy (or gal) in a yard while walking through a neighborhood I've never walked in. I've drove through that area plenty of times but never noticed it until I was walking through.

Tips for avoiding blisters long distance & hot/sweaty

I’ve never really had to deal with blisters up until this point because my feet stay fairly dry but with summer approaching I am beginning to walk in 90+ degree, humid weather and my feet and sweating and therefore blisters are happening rapidly. 😫 What are your tips and tricks?! I applied some anti-chaffing antiperspirant today and it didn’t seem to help.

Walking shoes

Is it normal for this to happen to a pair of walking shoes? I bought them in August 2025 and it's only May 2026. I dont use them for day to day life - only my walks (I dont run, just walk), and maybe four times a month at my "part time" job that I barely go to (and only for like three hour shifts at a time). I saw someone post a pair of Hokas and say they owned them for three years and ran three marathons in them and they didnt look like this 😰😰 I obviously need new shoes now but I dont know if I should go back to Brooks or try Asics/Hoka now 😵‍💫😵‍💫 these were 237$ 😭
