New i20 owners – How do I register CEAT Unconditional Warranty for OEM tyres?

Hi everyone,

I recently took delivery of a new Hyundai i20 Sportz MT, and it came with CEAT OEM tyres.

I came across CEAT's Unconditional Warranty and wanted to check if I need to register these tyres separately to avail the warranty.

For those who have bought a new Hyundai/i20 with CEAT tyres:

Did you register the tyres for the Unconditional Warranty?

Is the warranty automatically applicable to OEM tyres, or is separate registration required?

If registration is required, what details/documents did you submit?

Is there an official CEAT registration link/process?

Most importantly, has anyone actually used or claimed the CEAT Unconditional Warranty on OEM tyres? Would love to hear about your experience.

Thanks in advance!

2008 Honda Accord 2.4 AT | Power steering fluid leak gets worse when turning, rack already replaced

Hi everyone,

I have a May 2008 Honda Accord 2.4 i-VTEC Automatic in Pune, India, and I'm trying to diagnose a recurring power steering fluid leak.

The steering rack was replaced previously with a used/reconditioned rack. I paid around ₹15,000 for it, so it was definitely not a brand-new Honda rack. After the replacement, the steering worked fine for some time, but the fluid leak has now returned.

Here are the symptoms I've noticed:

  • When the engine is OFF, I can fill the power steering reservoir and the fluid stays there.
  • Once I start the engine, the power steering pump starts working and the fluid begins leaking.
  • The leak becomes much worse when I turn the steering left and right, especially during city driving where there is a lot of steering input.
  • On the highway, where I'm mostly driving straight, the leakage seems considerably less.
  • There is also a whining/weird noise from around the power steering pump/steering system, especially when the fluid level gets low.
  • Currently using car by refueling the steering oil now and then.
  • I have not yet been able to identify the exact point where the fluid is coming from.

Honda's official service centre previously indicated that replacing the steering rack can cost close to ₹1 lakh, which I would really like to avoid if the actual problem is something repairable such as a seal, O-ring, hose, fitting, pump or rack seal.

So my questions are:

  1. Based on these symptoms, does this sound more like a steering rack seal, power steering pump, high-pressure hose/fitting, or something else?
  2. Is there a proper way to pressure-test the system and identify the exact leak source before replacing anything?
  3. Has anyone with an 8th-gen Accord had a similar problem and successfully repaired/resealed the rack instead of replacing the entire unit?
  4. Since I'm in Pune, does anyone know a trustworthy independent mechanic who is experienced with older Hondas/Accords and can diagnose/rebuild the hydraulic steering system instead of immediately recommending a complete rack replacement?

I'm mainly looking for advice from people who have dealt with this issue before. I don't mind spending money on a proper repair, I just don't want to replace a ₹1 lakh component if a much smaller part is actually causing the leak.

[Help] Honda city V 2015: Headlight upgrade

Right Low beam bulb is out. Probably the age. I'm not sure what's the bulb configuration (Gemini tells me it's a H11 for low beam bulbs) Car comes with reflector housing for low and high beams separately.

Looking to upgrade to LED setup.

Local vendors in Chennai are asking anywhere between 4k to 15k and I find it expensive.

Suggest options that are VFM. TIA

Will it be safe to drive back home

So basically, I failed to assess the water level on the road, and I noticed my engine was taking a lot of load. As soon as I saw the smoke ahead, I found a higher ground and parked my car there.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t hear any boom or unusual sound.

I’ve just reached home after leaving my car there. Would it be fine to drive it back after a while, when water levels are down or is there anything specific I should check or take care of before driving it?

Reliable VW technician in Bangalore

My VW 1.5 TDI developed some oil leakage from the engine head side. I took it to VW Whitefield and they suggested to change everything, literally everything on the head. On asking where the leak is they say: head, vacuum pump, engine pressure switch, everywhere, which I don’t believe.

Can someone suggest a reliable technician who knows about VAG cars in Bangalore? I stay near Mahadevpura but willing to travel.

Have paid inspection charges and taken the car back from the dealer.

30K Service — What Did They Actually Do?

What exactly is included in these labour/service charges, and what could have been avoided?

I recently got my Fortuner’s 30,000 km service done and the bill was ₹18,054.25 + 18% GST = ₹21,304.

I’m trying to understand what the service centre actually did for each charge, and which items are genuinely required at 30,000 km versus optional/add-on work.

Labour / service charges

- 30,000 km service – INSP: ₹4,370

- Wheel cylinder – Other: ₹1,284

- Propeller shaft cross greasing: charged under the above/other labour

Parts

- Diesel injector: ₹1,410

- Engine flush: ₹1,403

- Windshield washer: ₹84

- Air cleaner element: ₹1,767

- Gasket: ₹52

- Oil filter: ₹425

- AdBlue: ₹1,236

Engine oil

- TGMO Premium Diesel 0W-20, 5L: ₹6,023.25

Total before GST: ₹18,054.25

Total after 18% GST: ₹21,304

My main questions are:

  1. What does ₹4,370 for the 30,000 km inspection/service actually cover? What work do they physically perform?

  2. What is the ₹1,284 wheel-cylinder charge for? Is this labour for inspection/cleaning/adjustment, or something else?

  3. What exactly is done during propeller shaft cross greasing? Is this a standard 30,000 km requirement?

  4. Are diesel injector treatment, engine flush and windshield washer actually necessary, or are these typically dealer-recommended add-ons?

  5. Is the air cleaner element normally due at 30,000 km?

  6. Are there any other items here that I could reasonably have declined without affecting the scheduled service/warranty?

  7. For Fortuner owners who have had the same service done, what did your 30,000 km service cost and what items were actually performed?

I’m not necessarily questioning the total amount—I just want to understand what I actually paid for, especially the labour charges, and which items were mandatory versus optional.

Thar Roxx mileage only 6.5-7.5 km/l with XP95 — others getting 8-9.5 km/l. Is this normal?

Hi everyone, my Thar Roxx 2.0 mStallion manual has done around 4{,}900 km and I’m getting only about 7\text{–}7.8 km/l. I’ve seen other owners report around 8\text{–}9.5 km/l, so I’m wondering if this is normal.
The car is completely stock, including stock wheels and tyres, and I use XP95 fuel. My average speed is around 25\text{–}26 km/h. I drive with a light foot and usually upshift before 2{,}000 RPM, so I’m not driving aggressively.
Most of my usage is city driving with regular traffic and some short trips. I know the Thar is heavy and aerodynamic efficiency is not its strongest point, but the gap compared with other owners still seems a bit high.
Can mileage improve after more kilometres? Should I get tyre pressure, wheel alignment, brake drag, fuel quality, or any sensor/engine issue checked at the service centre?
Other 2.0 mStallion MT owners: what are you getting in similar city traffic, and is that MID mileage or calculated tank-to-tank?

Dies when I give throttle input

I have a 2011 RE Bullet Electra. It's been sitting for almost 6 months and the battery is a bit discharged. It doesn't start via the self start button, but does with the kick start, but only when the choke is open.

As seen in the video, the bike dies when I give it throttle input. Should I change the air filter (Doesn't look too good) or is it a carb issue or something completely different?

Authorized Bajaj service center broke my ABS, clutch, and instrument cluster over a routine sprocket job — now refusing warranty over a "missed service." What are my options?

So here's the full story, because I think people should know what "authorized service" can turn into.

I took my Pulsar N160 in for a routine chain-sprocket kit replacement plus rear brake pads — total bill ₹3,500. Signed off, paid, rode home. Bike was completely fine. Meter, ABS, clutch — everything working exactly as it should.

The sprocket job took two days, and the bike never actually made it back to me in that time. Before handing it over, they told me the instrument cluster's RPM readout dims when I redline the engine — I'd never had this problem before, and it surfaced while the bike was still in their custody, not after I'd driven off. They said it's under warranty and they'd fix it for free.

When I went to collect the bike, the new cluster they'd installed turned out to be faulty on their own admission. So they put my old cluster back in and told me to come back in about a week for the real replacement — no fixed date, nothing in writing, just "we'll call you."

Here's where it gets worse: leaving that visit, my ABS is suddenly dead. Tyre skidding under hard braking, no matter how carefully I braked. I go straight back and they flat-out deny anything is wrong with the ABS. I have to demonstrate it live on the road in front of them before they even admit it's broken. Their solution: ride without ABS for about a week until the new cluster part shows up.

Not happy with that, I file a complaint through the Bajaj customer care helpline. A manager calls back, apologizes, says she'll expedite it, and tells me the replacement part is coming from Pune — about a week out.

A week later the part arrives and she calls me saying it's urgent, to come in immediately. So I drop my classes, leave work, take a Rapido, and hand over the bike for the day.

2-3 hours later, she calls back and tells me — after already taking the bike apart — that they can't do this under warranty after all. Reason given: it's been 18 months since my last service, and my odometer is about 700km past the 10,000km service milestone. This is a bike I use for a 2km commute to college and back. No unusual mileage, no oil degradation, nothing that would actually justify forcing a service just to keep a warranty claim on damage THEIR team caused. She said she'd try to push it through as a free favor with management but wasn't confident.

By this point the cluster assembly has been opened and reinstalled twice. And on top of the original issue, I'm now dealing with:

ABS — still not working

Clutch — a different mechanic found the clutch wire itself is damaged; they've given it so much free play that only the last \~10% of the lever actually engages the clutch

Rear brake light — stuck on at full power permanently, even with the engine off and the brake untouched, which is going to kill my battery if it stays like this

The original jerks issue the sprocket kit was supposed to fix — still there

None of this — cluster, ABS, clutch, brake light — existed before I brought the bike in for what should've been a simple sprocket change. I'm a student, I can't keep dropping classes and work every time they call me in to "fix" something they broke the last time.

On top of all that, one of their mechanics also mentioned — almost in passing — that he'd updated the ECU at some point during all this. Nobody asked for that, it was never part of the original sprocket job, and it was never disclosed to me until he just casually brought it up. I don't know for sure if it's connected to the cluster/ABS/brake light issues, but an unrequested ECU update happening somewhere in the middle of all these electronics going haywire feels like more than a coincidence.

I'm not against paying — I told them I'm fine paying for the actual replacement part itself, that's a fair cost. What I'm not okay with is being charged or stonewalled for damage I didn't cause. , I'm done making special trips for their mistakes. And if this doesn't get resolved properly, I'm prepared to take this to consumer court — this feels like a clear case of them using a technicality to dodge responsibility for faults their own technicians created.

The next time the manager yells at me saying how dare u complain against us it's your fault you didn't get it serviced

Now come and get a full service done then we'll see

So — has anyone dealt with something like this? Is the "missed service voids warranty on unrelated damage" excuse even legally solid, or is that something a consumer court would throw out? Should I file with the National Consumer Helpline first, or go straight to a consumer forum? And can they even legally flash/update my ECU without telling me first?

Any advice from people who've actually pushed a complaint like this through would help a lot.

Got this from Amazon but QR says "Not found in database"

Ordered this from Amazon for my 2002 HH Passion after the mechanic added Motul 5100 10W40 last time without my knowledge. The front scanner opens accurately but after scanning the rear QR, it says "This QR is not found in Motul Database." I shared these pics on WhatsApp and Mail but no response. Today, after calling the provided WhatsApp number on their website they asked me to fill the "Get in Touch" form to contact the Packaging department. Is this the right way to go about it? I just want a confirmation on the verification of the package.
