This is more of a rant than anything but some of the comments on the last 2 chapters are absolutely baffling to me.

Using your "opinions on slavery" as a reason for disliking Sunny's acceptance of the SB is absurd. This isn't a conversation about morality, neither Sunny nor Nephis have a choice in the bond (at this point, yes she chose to take it but, at least in my interpretation of the novel, she used it SPECIFICALLY to save his life. Not to mention that, like others have stated, this was almost a decade ago in the novel). Nephis had been extremely careful not to break his trust and treated the bond with respect, which leads me directly into the next point.

Of course sunny is somewhat happy to have it back, the entire point of the last 1000 chapters has been that the chains that bind us together, make us stronger, and they make us whole. If sunny got the bond back, and immediately started waffling about it, it would have undermined the entire point of his growth. Yes, another person having the ability to take control IS scary, of course it is, it is meant to be uncomfortable, but this is not something unique to him and Nephis. The entire cohort is trusting Nephis and Sunny with their entire lives, without even the knowledge of what they are doing. Because they trust them.

He has grown to trust other people to manage parts of his life, take care of those he holds dear, as they have for him. Getting cold feet now would not just be a betrayal of his own growth, but of the people who trust him.

Am I saying that I don't think they need to have a serious conversation about how a thing like that could affect their relationship going forward? Of course they do, but of all of impacts that Sunny getting his fate back will have had, that is like... not even top 5. (1. Nephis inital reuinion, 2. Cassie remembering 3. Cohort remembering 4. Antartica gang remembering 5. rain remembering)

Honestly I am only posting this here because my friends who are UTD on shadow slave dont read the subreddit (sane) and I didn't want to infect them with this shit but I had to get it out lmao
