LG OLED Flex LX3 – Rectangular artifact appeared immediately after latest firmware update

Hi everyone,

I own an LG OLED Flex 42LX3 purchased in August 2023 and right after installing the latest firmware update today, (33.31.24) I noticed a strange rectangular artifact appearing in the upper-right part of the screen.

It is visible on every source:

  • HDMI
  • internal apps
  • menus
  • dark backgrounds especially

It almost looks like a large semi-transparent rectangle affecting brightness/gamma uniformity.

Important, the TV was perfectly fine before the update, no shock or physical damage, the issue appeared immediately after rebooting from the firmware update

I already tried:

  • unplugging TV
  • holding power button
  • rebooting
  • different inputs

Has anyone experienced something similar on LG OLEDs or Flex models after firmware updates?

Could this be:

  • TCON issue?
  • compensation cycle corruption?
  • firmware bug?

Thanks a lot.
