My (M21) sister (F24) got cheated on for the second time recently and it really seems to have messed with her confidence.

She keeps making half-joking half-serious comments about her being “fugly”. I’ve tried telling her that’s not true but she doesn’t seem to believe me. Probably because I’m her brother and she thinks I’m just trying to be nice. But why say these things then?

I really don’t want her feeling bad about herself but I’m not sure what else I can say. We’re pretty close and usually pretty good at cheering each other up. But I’m kind of at a loss here.
