Riddled With Shame
I was raised by a malignant narcissistic parent. I was exposed to constant blaming, shaming and criticism. It broke me, it stayed with me, all the way through adulthood. I went from “I’ve done something wrong” to “I am what’s wrong”. I am just ashamed all the time. I always feel inferior to others around me. I mask it well but when I’m alone, all I can think about is how much I loathe myself. It’s like I’m ashamed of existing. I just wanted to ask if anyone has been able to overcome this or even gradually recovered a bit. The words of affirmation aren’t working
