I’m (25m) pretty new to hockey and trying to master the basics of hockey skating before I jump into games and a beginner league. Anyone know any people who offer private one on one lessons in the Orange County area? Preferably Irvine or Anaheim.

Just got fitted at a hockey shop and ended up in Bauer size 10 skates (I wear an 11 in normal shoes). I’m new to hockey so I’m not totally sure what the fit is supposed to feel like and wanted to get some opinions.

When I have them on, I can move my toes up and down a little in the toe box. They’re not jammed up against the front, but I feel like I have a little too much space in the toe box. The midfoot and heel feel pretty snug and locked in, which seems right, but when I walk around on carpet my ankles feel a little wobbly side to side. I’m not sure if that’s just because I’m off the ice or if that’s a sign they’re a bit too big.

Do these sound like they fit correctly for new skates that haven’t been baked yet, or does it sound like I should’ve gone down to a 9.5 or even a 9?
