Bedsharing with 16m toddler and newborn?
Okay so I currently have a 9m old baby who I bedshare with. I recently found out I am pregnant again, and I am currently 8.5w along. My 9m old will be 16m when this baby is born.
My question is, is there any way to safely bedshare with both a young toddler & a newborn? I understand the answer is probably no, I just feel very stuck.
*To simplify this for my brain we will call my 9m old “S” and my unborn baby, “baby”.*
On one hand, I can work on teaching S how to sleep alone before Baby gets here, but I feel bad kicking her out of the bed to make room for her new sibling.
On the other hand, I can introduce bassinet sleeping for baby from the beginning, so they don’t know anything different.. at least until Baby is old enough to be able to bedshare with all of us (Me, S, & Dad) But I feel bad not giving Baby that closeness right after they exit the womb, you know what I mean?
Idk!! I don’t know what to do. Is it safe to bedshare with both of them? If not, what would you do in my shoes? Have you been in my shoes? If so, what did you do?
