i just got home from the Yuja Wang concert at the Symphony Center and noticed a lot of people were recording and being asked to stop by ushers.
while i don’t support recording during the concert, can we talk about how some ushers physically try to stop people? it really bothered me to see them shoving people’s hands and arms.
this was only a small number of ushers, most of the ones i saw were polite and just asked directly. but why are we touching people? hello? is that even allowed? it felt really rude, and it honestly made me uncomfortable during the concert, even though i wasn’t the one being asked to stop.
while i think we need to continue emphasizing on the importance of not recording and all the reasons to it but can ushers maybe explain that more rather than physically touching people?
