Car Window serial break-ins?
Been living in South West LA for about 6 months now (since October 31st) and throughout these 6 months, almost every month since, mine and my girlfriends’ car keeps getting their window smashed. It will usually be the passenger side window in the front but last night it was the right rear window. Nothing is being taken it seems, sometimes items are moved slightly from their original position but we aren’t missing anything after each break in. Recently we think that it’s some kind of stalker because we don’t see anyone else’s window smashed ever, it’s only ours. But again if it was a stalker, why leave no trace? Why not spray paint it and mark that you were there? Why just break in and leave everything as is?
Any help or advice is welcome other than telling us to remove items from the car or just park it somewhere else
- we live in a small studio apartment, there is not much room for all of our belongings. The only things visible in either of our cars are mostly blankets and maybe a plastic cup or two.
- Our apartment has no garage, no dedicated street parking and is usually a struggle to find any viable parking near or around our apartment

So regarding the break in last night for my girlfriends car, she forgot to put her wheel lock on and as she got in we noticed the backing of the steering wheel was broken apart like someone was trying to hotwire it so i guess this time someone was actively trying to steal her vehicle but that’s just LA. All other times were simply just window being broken 👎
