I think OnePlus ruined Samsung for me — talk me in or out of it
Coming from an iPhone 13 Pro and looking to finally jump to Android. Budget is around $1,500 max, but I don’t necessarily NEED to spend that much if the experience is already excellent below that.
Right now I’m torn between OnePlus, Pixel, and Samsung.
I spent some time using a OnePlus 15R and absolutely fell in love with how fast, smooth, and responsive it felt. The battery life and charging speed especially impressed me compared to my aging iPhone. It just felt FUN to use.
That said, I’m concerned about OnePlus’s future in the U.S. and whether they’re scaling back operations/support. I also don’t know how much ecosystem matters on Android compared to Apple.
Things I’ve heard:
- Pixel = amazing software/camera but questionable battery life
- Samsung = safest choice/ecosystem but maybe overpriced and bloated
- OnePlus = enthusiast dream with insane battery/charging, but uncertain long-term future in the U.S.
For context:
- Current phone: iPhone 13 Pro
- Carrier: Visible by Verizon
- Visible gives me a free cellular smartwatch line
- I care a LOT about battery life, smoothness, performance, and overall enjoyment using the phone
- Cameras matter, but not more than battery/performance
- I like bleeding-edge tech and customization
- I don’t want something that feels laggy, bloated, or boring
- I had a Galaxy S6 years ago and liked it
- The OnePlus 15R seriously impressed me
At my budget, would you go:
- OnePlus 15
- Samsung Galaxy S26 / S26 Ultra
- Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL
- Something else entirely?
Would especially love feedback from people who switched FROM iPhone recently.
