edits made now that I have finished the story.

I love so much if this expansion, and the changes that were made. I took a break after the last expansion. I didn't really like the setting, and the story was pretty boring. This expansion is a great addition, and perhaps one of the best in Diablo history. In the interest of being up front I am only like halfway through the story I would guess. *Possible spoilers, but I'll try to leave out big details.* Lorath is being a pouty baby and thinking he's cursed everyone he has met so far, and an angel has come to talk sense into him.

Setting: love the new island. The environment is interesting to look at. When I first got there I was dreading that it would be a desert expansion. I hate playing in a desert as the levels feel like boring game design. I've only traveled half of the island, hopefully it doesn't take a turn for the worse.

The climb up that friggin mountain!!!? Oh man! Exceptional moments that felt epic.

Story: Still working through the story, but it's solid so far. The story puts the player in the driver's seat instead of chasing after a child that is putting humanity at risk. The deepening understanding of the big bads is pretty neat and well told.

Hell of a story! What a way to expand on all the series and to end this expansion in on outstanding note! Lastly, fuck that tree!

Gameplay: The world feels alive. Getting up into harder tiers feels like I'm waging a one person war against the prime evils. Packs of enemies feel more dense and closer together.

Last boss fight was filled with all sorts of bologna that I can't wait to punish myself learning for an Uber fight. Such great boss fights. Really neat new monsters with cool abilities, and seemed at time they really complimented each others strengths and weaknesses against the player. Puzzles were okay, glad they were easy.

War Plans are super cool!

Gear: Some neat changes for the fear system. One thing I'm on the fence about is how few legendary items I have found. Currently level 66, doing story, checked shops, hell tides, world bosses, and some legions, and I still have a few rare pieces, and not many manuals that are useful for my build.

Still not much more luck getting gear. Still have ilevels 380ish.

The Horadric Cube is awesome!

Skill Tree: Neat presentation, and I like a lot of what's going on here. Feels like more builds will be viable. I'm playing a Paladin, and it's neat. I wish they didn't take away thorn passives without adding them to another part of the skill tree. Going forward I hope there is more variety for passives skills have. Most of that passives/attributes seem to follow the same trend with only slight variations between skills.

I like the magic amulet feature of the season and wouldn't mind it staying. I don't find many useful pieces for it that make it feel robust enough to tip my build for the better. Hopefully others have.

I haven't tried warlock yet, but it looks pretty neat seeing other people use it. Maybe after I finish the story I'll try one out.

Music: Hell yeah. Start to finish every scene was crafted with love musically.

Voice acting: outstanding.

My skill: probably below average, but I'm having a great time as a Diablo Dad who has been playing since the start of the series.

I really hope this isn't the last expansion for D4. I want to see another expansion or two. Keep pushing the game play in the direction you have been, Blizzard.
