Family member hit the back of my leased car. - seeking advice
Delete if not allowed. I (24m) currently am leasing a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE (RWD/ EV/ 21,000mi)
A family member of mine backed their truck into the rear lower bumper of my vehicle. Just got an estimate from the licensed body shop to fix and im looking at about a 2,200$ repair. I have never had to deal with this before so im honestly seeking advice on what route would be best to cover this bill.
They offered to pay for this repair in full out of pocket, but what other options would I have to see about getting this done? Would my insurance rates go up because of this if I decide to file a claim even if it wasn’t my fault? Or vice versa for my family member? I dont plan on keeping this car so I don’t think I can negotiate myself out of this one at the dealership, but I’m just trying to find out if there’s a better way to get this done.
