LENOVO LOQ parental lock
I got a brand new Lenovo LOQ laptop (13th Gen i7, RTX 5050, 1TB SSD) and during the initial Windows setup I accidentally used my own Gmail/account details somewhere while signing in with my father’s Microsoft account.
Because I’m under 18, Microsoft Family/parental controls seem to have been triggered.
At first I thought I could fix it by factory resetting the laptop, so I used:
- Reset this PC
- Remove everything
- Cloud download
The reset took a long time but eventually completed successfully. Windows setup started again from scratch and everything seemed normal.
After setup finished, I closed the laptop once and later opened it again. Now I’m completely locked out at the Windows sign-in screen.
Every single time I try to sign in:
It sends a verification code to my father’s email.
I enter the code successfully.
Then Windows asks for parental consent/family verification again.
After completing that, it loops back again instead of letting me into Windows.
So now:
- the laptop itself works fine,
- Windows boots normally,
- but I literally cannot access the desktop because of this endless Microsoft Family sign-in loop.
I’m not sure what to do now. Should I:
- reset again using Local reinstall,
- disconnect internet and create a local/offline account,
- remove Microsoft Family from the account,
- boot into recovery/safe mode,
- or do a complete USB reinstall of Windows?
Would really appreciate help because I’m fully locked out of a completely new laptop right now.
