Registered with incomplete name on uni-assist (missing middle name) - VPD already issued. What should I do?
Background:
I registered on uni-assist with just my first and last name, but my passport shows my full legal name including a middle name. I've already received a VPD from University of Hannover with the incomplete name.
My situation:
- VPD from Hannover shows: [First Last]
- Passport shows: [First Middle Last]
- I'm applying to multiple German universities for M.Sc. programs
- uni-assist support is slow, so I'm not sure when they'll respond
My questions:
Will this name discrepancy cause issues with other universities?
Should I wait for the corrected VPD before applying elsewhere, or apply now and deal with it later?
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How did it turn out?
Should I manually change my name in the uni-assist portal, or wait for support to do it?
What I've done so far:
- Submitted a support ticket to uni-assist explaining the discrepancy
- Attached a copy of my passport
- Asked them to correct the name and reissue the VPD
Any advice appreciated. This is stressing me out more than it probably should, but I want to make sure I don't mess up my applications.
