Title. My friend (22 cisF) is subletting to me (22 NB) for ridiculously cheap. I haven't paid rent or moved in yet but have already signed the lease. I just found out that she and her floormates had an agreement to only sublet to women (this came up because another floormate wants to break this agreement by subletting to a family with a man).
I'm coming up on 3 years on testosterone and the vast majority of new people perceive me as a man. I haven't met the floormates yet but I'm pretty sure they think I'm a woman, since my friend misgendered me in the apartment group chat and I didn't bother correcting her (I use they/them in English but our language doesn't have a widely used gender neutral pronoun in writing).
I'll be moving in soon and really don't want to find new and more expensive housing on short notice. WIBTA if I lie by omission about being a woman to them?
