I’m still shaken while writing this, but I need to get this out.

I was out with my dad and my sister, just a normal outing, nothing unusual. There was this drunk guy hanging around near my scooty. At first, I tried to ignore him, but he was standing behind it making creepy comments on call with his friend like “bhabhi mil gayi hai, baat karega kya krwau?” and other nonsense. It was uncomfortable, but I didn’t know who or what he was talking about.

Then it got worse.

He suddenly came up to me and said “didi 2 min baat karlo” and was insisting that I talk to his friend on call. That’s when I realized he had been targeting me the whole time. I lost it and shouted at him to stay away. I said it twice, loudly, but he just didn’t listen and kept coming closer.

I immediately went to my dad and called him. I told him clearly that this man was harassing me. My dad didn’t even hesitate, he went up to him and slapped him hard. Twice.

At that point, we thought it was over and tried to leave.

But this guy wouldn’t let us go.

He was on a call with someone and started telling them our location, saying “ladai ho gayi hai, isne mere pe haath chhod diya,” basically acting like he was the victim and calling his friends to come there. He physically stood in our way and tried to block us from leaving.

And the worst part? There were people all around us. Watching everything. Not a single person stepped in while he was harassing me or stopping us from leaving. Everyone just stood there like it was some kind of show.

It was only after a few college guys nearby noticed what was actually happening that they came forward and helped us. Only then were we able to get out of that situation safely.

I don’t even know what to feel angry, scared, disgusted. The entitlement this man had to harass someone openly, and then act like a victim when confronted and the silence of everyone else around us.

If those college guys hadn’t stepped in, I honestly don’t know how much worse it could have gotten.

Just needed to share this. Please, if you ever see something like this happening, don’t just stand there.
