Everyone gives different advice before college starts, but I'm curious what actually turned out to be useful.
If you could tell every DU fresher just one thing before they begin their first semester, what would it be? It could be about classes, attendance, societies, making friends, internships, commuting, or just navigating college life in general.
What's that one lesson you wish someone had told you earlier?
Can someone please rank this courses for PCB students.
BSc biomedical science, BSC biological science,BSC microbiology, BSc biochemistry, BSc food technology, BSc zoology and BSc botany.
BA applied psychology and BA psychology.
Students who are already studying these courses or alumni or if you have little bit idea about these courses can you please tell.
Placement is not a issue for me. I can either go to the academia route or government job route. Not sure though.
Guys, listen. 😭
On the CSAS portal, when it asks you which languages you know for a BA Programme, it means you should have working-level knowledge of those languages. It doesn't matter whether you studied them in Class 12 or not. For example, I know Hindi, English, and Punjabi, so I'll select Yes for those three and No for the rest.
Now, coming to foreign languages... don't go around clicking Yes like a bunch of donkeys thinking, "We'll learn it in college anyway." 😭🙏 The portal is asking what you already know, not what you plan to learn.
Think of it this way: if you take English, nobody is going to teach you A, B, C, D. They'll assume you already know the basics and will start from a much more advanced curriculum. Similarly, for French, Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, Punjabi, and the rest of the languages, they will not start from scratch. They assume you already know the fundamentals and will begin with a much more advanced curriculum.
So please don't act oversmart and end up chopping your own feet off with an axe. 😭 Choose only the languages you can actually read, write, and speak. If you tick a language you don't know, you're the one who's going to be in trouble later, not the portal.
One kid literally asked me, "I don't know Tamil... should I still select it?" 😭😭
BRO, ARE YOU OKAY?! 😭🙏 If you don't know Tamil, why on earth would you choose Tamil? How are you going to study the course if you don't even know the language? 😭
AB MUJHE KOI BHI DM NAHI KAREGAAAA!!!

How much Distance is too much before it makes you bald. I see students telling 30km is too much for srcc. Get a PG. While I'm here deciding that I'll travel 67 kms daily to SRCC, catching a train, then metro and walking to clg.
So how much is too much? Will I go nuts?
Hi everyone , so basically in my subject mapping I'm qualifying for bcom honours ( 1 lang from list A + 3 domains ) but the thing is , I'm from humanities background ( geo, pol , history, eng) , so shud I fill out the preference sheet with bcom as an active choice or not? I never leaned towards commerce as I had no idea I would be eligible for bcom honours. My score is 900.24 so am I even eligible for any of the top colleges that offer bcom?
I am seeing a lot of negative comments abt du nowadays and i am having second thoughts people are saying even the north campus kmc and ramjas are not really worth it 😭 i am very confused pls someone tell how's the actual life in du
22F, 4th year passout from North campus. The one year post graduate system of DU released the seat matr ix of 45 seats max across all category for the whole department that too prioritised hons students over BAP students, means even if I have an average of 9 CGPA I will not be the priority over 8 CGPA hons student, as the department is so huge and roughly there are a thousand FYUP students who would eventually apply, my whole 4th year is wasted as I have close to negative chances of getting a seat. And there are no other universities who have an active 1 year programme for PG as they have not yet implemented NEP. And DU also has only a regular programme even if I think of SOL I have to do a two year degree.
And I think the reserved candidates will take all the general seats. I can't remember why I even choose this at the first place.
What should I do regarding this, only open universities have the registrations opened others have already closed it.
Pcb student here 😔🙏🏻 meko bsc chemistry chahiye gharwale du ke alva pvt mai nahi kraengeee
( pcb students are not eligible for opting chemistry )
seniors, if you're a bcom hons/bcom prog student, what else are you pursuing alongside the degree? is it any professional course or online certifications or prepping for entrances or anything else?
