[2N1728] My grandfather’s 1972 Seiko 7006-6000. He wore it every day, and now I do too.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share this piece that means the world to me. It belonged to my grandfather (born in 1931), who wore it as his daily watch for decades. After he passed, my husband helped me get it back in working order (he even sourced a replacement day/date wheel from a donor watch since the original wasn't working).

It’s a Seiko 7006-6000 from November 1972.

Even with all its scratches and signs of wear on the crystal and case, I wouldn't change a thing. To me, those marks are the story of his life, and I’m so happy to keep that story going on my own wrist every day. It’s still running perfectly after more than 50 years!

I’ve had to adjust the original bracelet (yes, it is the original one) to fit my female wrist, and I think the "TV screen" shape looks great. It’s amazing how a piece of Japanese engineering can connect generations.

Hope you like it!
