I have recently taken up reading again after a long 7ish yeah break. Since starting back up, I’m about halfway through Wheel of Time, caught up in Bound and Broken series, and am about to start The Faithful and the Fallen with a friend.

I had an idea to try and get my dad back into reading and thought it would be a good idea to read a book or smaller series together so we can talk more frequently. I am looking for good recommendations that would be a good stand alone book or shorter series to try out.

Growing up, we watched fantasy and action movies together a lot. Movies like LOTR, Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, and others like that. What book recommendations do you have for this?
