Beginnings of resistance...

I love books and tv shows about freedom fighters, especially sci-fi.

But one thing I've never read and would love to, is a story from the very beginning.

As in, one person thinking the baddies need to be stopped, deciding to start, them finding a second, third, tenth. Organising drop points, figuring out how to get propaganda out, how and where to get or make weapons, figuring out codes or how to contact other groups...

Even real accounts from WWII that I've found thus far seemingly all start with things well underway. With communications with other groups and cells already happening.

I get that folks want to get into the meat of the story as soon as possible, but surely there's plenty of drama in just trying to get started? Figuring out who one can trust, the dangers of reaching out to others, trying to find folks with expertise or connections in areas that are currently lacking...

Can anyone recommend any books that begin at the very start? Real life or fictional.

Something I saw on TV as a kid. May have been a made-for-TV film or an episode of an anthology series.

Solid memories are that it was set on an aeroplane at night and something was loose on it. Whatever it was, was beaten by the pilots getting the plane to climb higher in order to reach sunlight earlier - sunlight being the way to defeat the thing.

I'm certain I saw this in the 1970s, but it may have been the early 1980s - definitely before 1985.
