Skincare recommendations

Has anyone ever used the PowerBright line from Dermalogica before to help with PIH? The dark spot peel specifically states it can help with that. Just wondering if anyone saw a difference in their healing or if they’ve used anything from any brand that has helped them.
I had 1 45 minute electrolysis appointment on my chin/ neck area about 5 weeks ago and I still have some discoloration where some of the hairs were removed. I’d say about 30% of the hairs were removed. I don’t really want to book another appointment until my skin evens out a bit as I’d like to avoid having PIH all over my chin and neck. I’m very pale too which doesn’t help. I also struggled with some ingrowns about 3 weeks after as I assume some were not removed properly (I did feel some pulling on a few hair removals) and/or due to not being able to exfoliate or use retinol for a few weeks.

First Endocrinologist Appointment

I have my first ever endocrinologist appointment coming up. PCOS/PMOS was initially expected and my gyno did some tests for that as well as NCAH. I was told I don’t meet the criteria for PCOS as I only have high androgens. My primary also tested thyroid and that came back normal.
Are there any specific tests I should be asking for at this endo appointment or just see what they say? Any good questions to ask? This is my first time navigating a specialist (other than gyn) so any help/ advice is appreciated. I’m at a point where I just want answers. I also hit my deductible on my insurance already this year so I’m trying to get what I can done in 2026.

Is Allara Health worth exploring?

Has anyone had experience with using Allara Health to get to the bottom of what’s causing your hirsutism? I went through PCOS (PMOS) testing with my GYN and I only meet the high androgen criteria. I’ve attempted to get into endocrinologists in my area and they aren’t accepting new patients. I’ve already hit the deductible on my insurance this year and would love to get things sorted out a bit. I am concerned that I may have insulin resistance/ metabolic issues which my GYN did not test.

I just had my first electrolysis appointment yesterday for hirsutism on my chin/neck. My skin was pretty red and I developed white heads shortly after the procedure. I used an ice pack when I got home and I took a Benadryl before bed. Today I have small red bumps (looks similar to acne) were the hairs were removed. My electrologist gave me instructions to use a gentle cleanser the first few days. She also gave me a bottle of wintergreen rubbing alcohol to apply 2-3 times a day as well as aloe vera gel.

I was wondering what everyone uses/ has been told to use for aftercare?
She couldn’t get all the hairs as she wanted to give my skin a break. Is it okay to start using a small Finishing Touch facial electric shaver to keep those hairs short until I decide to go back? I unfortunately have to be in the office 4 days a week so I really don’t want them to show too much.
I am pretty fair skinned so I would like to reduce the redness and avoid scarring as much as possible.
