Is this peach fuzz? My primary question is, should I go for electrolysis or Laser for this type of hair?

Please zoom in to see the hair carefully on cheeks, nose, and forehead. I’m scared of paradoxical hair growth.

F32 PCOS 1.5 year progress

Bottom picture is 4 weeks’ growth.

I wish I had known about this years ago instead of thinking I just needed to find the right kind of laser. My life has been fundamentally changed :)

Mtf beard electrolysis concerns

Hi

I'm mtf trans, with blondie ginger facial hair and I'm 17 hours into having it removed. I'm getting the impression my electrologist is struggling removing my hair and I'm considering switching to someone else. I'm doing a 100mile round trip for each treatment. I do 2 hours once every 2 weeks and I pay £55/hour. I'd like to do more hours per visit but she's semi retired so won't do more than 2.

Things that worry me:

- A few sessions ago she was struggling to get the hairs to glide out of the right side of my face. I suggested turning the machine up but she said it's as high as it goes? Machine is a Apilus Senior

- She can't tell me what type of electrolysis I'm receiving (Thermolysis/blend/galvanic etc). Says the machine works that out itself?

- Pain varies a huge amount each time I go, I sometimes feel pain during the insertion before current is applied. When this happens I can almost guarantee the hair won't slide out. I guess this is due to improper insertion depth or angle?

- I experience a lot of plucking, I've brought this up and she says that she's accidentally pulling another hair with the tweezers that hasn't been treated. Which I think is understandable but it does seem to happen a lot. She's also mentioned the hairs all growing in different directions.

- Yesterday she bent 5 needles in a 2 hour session and said it's because my hair is so wirey?

- I will say I always seem to heal ok after treatment, it does take a week or so. The day after treatment I'll have redness, slight swelling and the odd pimple hear and there. My skin is pretty sensitive so I kind of expect this reaction.

Sorry for the long post. I feel absolutely lost and fed up with the whole experience and I know I've got a long road ahead of me. Any opinions or advice would be appreciated. Also any recommendations for electrologists in the north of England with experience removing male facial hair.

Thanks

This is one week without shaving growth on upper lip, should i get electrolysis?

Give me ALL the details about upper lip electrolysis! Im a very hairy woman. I just use the a electric shaving tool but its come back the next day😭 i was wondering if its worth it and what to expect? Is shaving more convenient for the cost at the end or is biting the bullet with electrolysis worth it? Im alsot using tretnoin will that be a factor into doing electrolysis? Im nervous with my skintone how it will work. The place that im looking it at charges $90 for a 30 minute session. How many hours do you think is needed for upper lip?

No change after 18months

HELP. I've been getting electrolysis on my lady beard every 3 weeks for the past 18 months and believe I'm not seeing any results yet. For example, one hair on the side of my neck has been there since the beginning. My technician says it's because more hairs keep coming (I have PCOS). However, I'm unsure whether it's the PCOS or her technique.

Should I keep waiting or try another tech?

Large Volume Electrolysis & Tattoos

Hey all, I am getting LVE done at Electrology 3000 later this month. Would it be a bad idea to get a tattoo the day after? I live in a different city from the clinic and the artist so it would be convinient to go while I am there but I would fear it being horrible or affecting my healing process. Also, any help/advice for what to do for recovery & healing after large volume would be great!

Edit: Tat would be on arm or thigh, getting electrolysis on face/neck exclusively

Not sure if im seeing progress

i know its a long journey but i guess i just expected better results.Im doing whole brazilian but i have been doing my mons religiously for 5 and a half months. I have actually been going every week sometimes every other week but still. When should I start seeing reduction on mons? I just thought that hair cycle on that area is a bit faster than other body parts. She’s using thermolysis and sometimes she has to hit a hair 4 to 6 times, but usually two times. I know she’s not plucking the hair that’s for sure. if anyone is doing that area, when did you see reduction? And when did you finish it?

Good electrolysis tech in Los Angeles?

Hi I am wondering if someone has a good electrolysis tech recommendation? I have also looked on Groupon so if you know someone you used through Groupon that would be my first choice as I am a student on a budget. Also I know some colleges like SMC have cosmetology salons where you can get waxing for super cheap like $10 because it is done by students. I tried to look online to see if there were any electrolysis schools looking for models, aka people for the students to work on so it would be free or low cost. That would also be a really great option, but I had a hard time finding anything if anybody has any recommendations please let me know!!

Is PKR 85,000 for one electrolysis session too expensive?

I recently had a consultation for thermolysis electrolysis, and the electrologist quoted me PKR 85,000 for one sitting.

This seems extremely expensive to me, but I don't have much experience with electrolysis pricing in Karachi.

For those who have had electrolysis:

- How much were you charged per session?

- Was it charged by time, area, or number of hairs?

- How long was your session?

- Is PKR 85,000 for one sitting reasonable, or is this unusually high?

- If you're in Karachi, what clinics/electrologists would you recommend?

Would really appreciate some firsthand experiences before I commit to this price.

Plucking Sensation on nipple area

So I’ve recently changed technicians and I’ve been treating chin, upper lip and nipple hair.
I’ve had 2 sessions with the new technician now, and at first I have been extremely disappointed because it’s a very high price point and I could tell she’s not experienced.
When she’s doing my nipple hair, I almost feel a plucking sensation with every single hair! But then I’m questioning myself if the hair is still treated, since I feel the plucking is not as intense as if I would go and just pluck one hair.
The question is: are you supposed to feel nothing at all after the zap?
How can I adress this to her without her getting defensive?
(I’ve adressed once that I feel a plucking sensation when she was doing my face, and she said she was sometimes also catching my fine blonde hair as well which hasn’t been treated - but I know that on my nipples I don’t have this much blonde hair and it can’t be that she plucks blonde hair with EVERY treated hair)
I feel very awkward about this, and also was asked to pay upfront for the next 3 sessions. So I have to stick with her and try to make the best out of it.

Electrolysis versus laser for Brazilian hair removal which do you think is safer and or a better option for down there?

My goal is to be hairless down there but I have a hard time shaving and getting the hair gone completely which scares me that I might get burned with a laser

Worth starting electrolysis if I plan to get pregnant in a few months

As the title states I’m wondering what people’s opinions are on if it’s worthwhile even starting if I plan to get try to get pregnant in a few months.

For context I’ve been doing my chin and neck for the past year after noticing hair growth after stopping birth control before getting pregnant with my first child. Obviously with this it’s hard to say whether pregnancy hormones actually made hair growth worse or not but postpartum I couldn’t deal with anymore. In addition to my face/neck I also noticed quite a bit of hair on my lower abdomen. This is the area I’m interested in starting now.

Do you think it’s worth it to do some sessions now and then continue after I’ve had another baby? I’m torn because you never know how soon you could get pregnant and also in a way any progress is helpful long term for hair removal.

Thoughts?

15 hour progression before & after (31 with PMOS)

26 sessions from Jan 2026 to Aug 2026 (~15 hours worth of electrolysis) using Blend. Each pic is just over 2 weeks after a previous session (I did trim with tiny scissors in between!).

I have PMOS and I'm almost 2 years off Spironolactone. I started electrolysis in October in 2025 and have had weekly 20-40 minutes sessions minus holidays etc. I'd show my original pics but they're horrible quality - my chin hair used to go a lot higher up my chin!

My hormones are stable though my testosterone is naturally slightly higher than the reference range.

I think it's going well?! It's been very slow progress but honestly, there's no better feeling than the reduction of hair on my upper lip I could cry with happiness.

I was a serial plucker before for about 16 years and can finally afford to take care of this, and honestly spiro didn't even touch my facial hair lol.

I've already got my lovely electrolygist onto my upper arms and chest! I'm lucky to have hair thats sparse elsewhere and quite dark. My facial hair though is very coarse and a mix of dark gingers and blonde.

The left side of my chin is being very stubborn but I'm sure it'll get there in the end :) Anway, off to my appointment after my holiday!

Electrolysis and accutane 5mg

Hello

I am taking very rarely accutane 5mg (havent taken it in maybe 2 weeks now) . My dermatologist has told me its safe to do electrolysis however I am reading on here that many people advise against it.

I have done also laser hair removal, approved again by my dermatologist, and havent had any issues.

My doctor is famous and considered one of the best dermatologists in the city so I do trust him a lot but still worrying a bit

If anyone has done electrolysis while taking very low dose of accutane, could you share your experiences?

Thanks!

Brazilian Electrolysis Progress

I don't see a lot of detailed info on Brazilian electrolysis, so after nearly a year I thought I'd give my experience. I knew this would be a long endeavor because 1) the density and coarseness of the hair 2) I had been waxing for 8 years, so the hair would be stronger and may need more passes.

1. Hair Treatment

My technician uses an Apilus xCell Pro on the Synchro mode (thermolysis).

I've had 20 hour long sessions with an experienced technician and 15 hour long sessions being a practice client for two new trainees. I did 8 sessions weekly before moving to bi-weekly. We decided it was best to work in and down, clearing those areas then moving down versus doing a thinning out each time. So after the first 4-5 sessions working on clearing the upper bikini line and top, we've done full clearings of this area nearly every time.

We've been moving to the lower bikini line and lower areas beginning around session 12. We always clear the upper areas of any new growth before moving to the lower sections we haven't treated. I've been noticing a large reduction of hair in the cleared areas. What's growing back is fine and sparse. I would estimate we'd need another 8 sessions to do a full clearance of the whole Brazilian region (so around 17 months/28 sessions since the first treatment with the experienced technician).

The trainee sessions are much, much slower and treat far smaller sections than with the experienced technician (as expected, but I do receive free treatment so I'm happy for any progress to be made without having to pay for it). To give an idea, each to trainee session we only treat about a 1in square. They mostly treat the harder areas since the experienced tech clears the easy stuff in our sessions, so it makes sense it's less as they learn how to work in awkward angles or deeper follicles.

2. Pain

I don't do anything out of the ordinary. I moisturize the area the day before and morning of, drink about 2-3 large glasses of water the day before and a glass or two prior to my sessions, and sometimes take 3-4 ibuprofen before. I tried numbing cream, but found it causes an intense itching sensation during treatment that is almost worse than the pain on my right side (not sure why just there) and it really didn't do much.

The pain ranges from feeling like I'm being poked with a pinprick (medium intense and focused on just that follicle but quick, 5/10), to a warm pain (more heat than sharp 4/10), to a sharp intense pain (deeper and the pain is felt in a wider circle vs the pinprick pain 6-8/10).

The warm and pinprick pains are easy to breathe through and talk through. The sharp intense pain requires deep breathing and focus, I usually can't talk through it or I take a quick pause when it happens. For the most part, the intense pain happens around thinner skin near the ligaments on the inner thigh, and around the top meeting point of the labia. Often it's just a few probes that feel intense, then after moving on the pain goes back to the pinprick pain. The warm pain seems to happen when I haven't hydrated enough which makes sense since the probe wouldn't have enough hydration to burn off, instead the little moisture from my skin is zapped.

For 95% of my sessions, the session is 97% 5/10 pain and is entirely manageable and I never get anxious about it. For the other 2%, the session will be 40-60% 5/10 pain and 40-60% 8/10 pain. I've started tracking when those sessions happen to try and figure out why - normally it's working in more sensitive areas during my period. So obviously I avoid that time.

3. Cost

The trainee sessions are free. I paid $92/hr for the first 16 sessions before they increased their prices to $95/hr.

Happy to answer any questions! I'm excited on the progress and can't wait to see what progress looks like in 20 more sessions!!

Should I try laser first or go directly with electrolysis

I want to remove hair around the nipples. Most of them are vellus but I have several terminal hairs which I find very annoying when they are growing, I’m conscious about them and they have impacted my relationships.

I’m afraid laser will make it worse. I don’t have PCOS, my testosterone is within a normal range but on the higher end, but as a teenager I had hormonal imbalances. So I was thinking about getting electrolysis and getting rid of it for good.

I’ve read however that some people advice to try laser first.

I am a woman by the way.
