IPL first month

The hair on my legs not even 1 month after I started using Phillips Lumea (4000?)
Only downside the Ipl takes time to get through all my legs bikini etc but my legs are much smoother it seems to me!
Glad I didn’t go to the studio where they would have charged me multiple hundred euros per session - and I would have needed 10 at least I think

Plucking Sensation on nipple area

So I’ve recently changed technicians and I’ve been treating chin, upper lip and nipple hair.
I’ve had 2 sessions with the new technician now, and at first I have been extremely disappointed because it’s a very high price point and I could tell she’s not experienced.
When she’s doing my nipple hair, I almost feel a plucking sensation with every single hair! But then I’m questioning myself if the hair is still treated, since I feel the plucking is not as intense as if I would go and just pluck one hair.
The question is: are you supposed to feel nothing at all after the zap?
How can I adress this to her without her getting defensive?
(I’ve adressed once that I feel a plucking sensation when she was doing my face, and she said she was sometimes also catching my fine blonde hair as well which hasn’t been treated - but I know that on my nipples I don’t have this much blonde hair and it can’t be that she plucks blonde hair with EVERY treated hair)
I feel very awkward about this, and also was asked to pay upfront for the next 3 sessions. So I have to stick with her and try to make the best out of it.

Phillips Lumea overheating

I love my ipl! Im treating my legs, stomach, butt and bikini area, which takes me like 45 mins each time. In that time it will occur several times that it starts to blink form 1-5 and won’t zap anymore. I then have to wait 5 minutes and unplug it until I can use it again. Am I doing it wrong? I’m using it on level 5 on my legs.
I’ve now used it like 4 times and already seeing good results! If this works it will save me thousands of euros for laser!!

Help with review for my electrolysis-provider

I want to write a google review for my electrolysis studio, because I was very disappointed at the end.
How many stars should I give the studio? I thought about 3.
The best would be to confront them, but I am too scared to be honest. Also because I still have 4 treatments already paid for left with them, and I’m scared to critique them and them being mad at me and still have to treat me… but as of now I am really unhappy with the treatment.

Initially very positive experience: The first practitioner was highly experienced, professional, and precise.
Good initial results: Noticeable progress was visible relatively quickly.
Treatment areas: Face (upper lip and chin), décolleté, and nipples.
Price increase: The price increased from €100 to €150 per 30 minutes, and I was informed about the increase shortly before a treatment despite having a long journey by train.
Prepaid sessions: I was offered the option to prepay several appointments in order to keep the previous price, which I accepted because I was initially very satisfied.
Change of practitioner: I was told that another practitioner from the same studio would take over and provide the treatment at the same professional standard.
Noticeable difference in experience: The new practitioner was friendly and clearly tried her best, but seemed considerably less experienced and less confident.
Treatment quality: I experienced noticeable pulling during the treatment and bleeding in the facial area. My makeup was also not removed before the treatment.
Overall comfort: I no longer felt as relaxed and comfortable during the treatments as I had with the original practitioner.
Feeling tied to the studio: Because I had already prepaid several treatments, I felt somewhat committed to staying with the studio despite my concerns.
After 10 treatments: I ultimately decided to change studios.
Overall assessment: The experience started very positively but became disappointing after the change of practitioner, particularly considering the price and the difference in treatment quality.

Session frequency

I have now had 6 sessions for upper lip, chin, chest and nipple hair.
My upper lip and chin almost don’t have any hair anymore. My chest never also very lonely hair. But my nipples still do have a lot of regrowth.
I always went every two weeks, before my 6th session I’ve had 4 weeks pause. After 4 weeks there were a lot of hair again, maybe around 30 on each areola.
Now I’m going again after 2 weeks, and the hairs around my areola only came up the last days and are still very short. Still they bother me a lot, also since they’re always ingrown. I hope they are long enough to be removed today and that they can work on the “wounds” from ingrown hair.
I don’t know if I want to wait 3 weeks in between treatment or if it would make more sense for my skin, or there to be more hair?
Also I want to be “finished” with this studio and change the provider, because I’m not too satisfied with the studio.
I wonder if the frequency I will be going now will affect my treatment?
Also I have 4 (including today) prepaid 30 minute sessions. If the treatment is less than 30 minutes, I won’t get any money back and it’s just done. So I wonder if I should wait longer, because when I went last time after 4 weeks it was roughly 30 mins, so I think now after 2 weeks it might not be 30 minutes worth of treatment.
I really don’t know how to proceed

IPL results on stomach

Just wanted to show my results from (more or less constant) use of my Phillips ipl.
I have pcos, so in a lot of areas I do have dark and unwanted hair growth. Right now I am trying with my legs, which I never did stick with because I didn’t see results as fast as I did on my stomach hair.
Also other areas I get treated with electrolysis, but am so happy that I can save on laser this way.
And also to mention I have changed my diet and lifestyle, and with this no more dark hair kept appearing.
I remember how annoying these stomach hairs were, if I plucked them they would always grow in and at one point I had a lot of scarring.

Would IPL work for me?

I have fair skin and really do struggle with ingrown hair after shaving and strawberry legs. Also my stomach and bikini line grows extra dark hair, due to PCOS.
I got a Phillips Lumea that I never really used because I thought I wasn’t seeing results and maybe stopped too soon. On my stomach hair I have seen very good results though.
Debating of giving my legs a second chance because I already own the device, but it takes so so long to cover all my legs and also butt. It’s so hard to reach and I can’t see :/

Really scared and unhappy and discouraged rn :(

I feel incredibly stupid and sad right now. Today has been my 6th session, and I pay a lot of money (100€ for 30mins)
But I was really happy to see results and also felt like my electrologist is very experienced and I never felt any plucking etc.
Then she told me someone else was going to take over electrolysis soon, and the price would go up 50% (so 150€ euros for 30 mins) if I pay for the next sessions beforehand I could have them for the old price.
Now at my 6th session I had the new tech and I could feel she was kind of nervous. Really nice but very nervous. She said the old tech taught electrolysis to all of the employees in the studio, and I did not want to interrogate her for how long she has been doing it. I also noticed she didn’t wear glasses and at the beginning I really felt a plucking sensation. I told her that and then I feel then it mostly really got better.
But then at my face it started bleeding and looks like a piece of skin came off.
I also noticed that she didn’t clean my face before, and I do wear sunscreen.
She then also switched to a finer needle and I think I did not feel so much plucking but a bit on my face.
But honestly I feel so stupid I paid so much money and am now stuck with this studio. I want to cry and feel so bad and discouraged now, I don’t know what to do. I still have 4 sessions left, and my next appointment is in 2 weeks. I kind of want to get it over with and then search for someone new if I still need treatment (already found someone who is cheaper and claims to have 9 years of experience).
I feel so hopeless and am scared to ruin my face now and don’t know what to do.

Permanent damage from thermolysis?

I am getting electrolysis on my chin and upper lip since about 2-3 months, and I have had 5 sessions so far with 3 weeks in between.
After sessions I always get swelling, and the day after normally pimples.
Since there is always only the 2 weeks in between, I can not really tell if these marks will be fading or are permanent :(
It also feels extremely dry all the time :(
My next session is now in 3 weeks and I hope I don’t have to get so many more (there is already a lot less growth) because I feel it’s so though on the skin.

Having my 5th session today

I am always really excited because I feel like I am already seeing a difference and progress after 2 45 min sessions and 2 30 min sessions!
It’s extremely expensive (150€ for 30 mins) and I have to take the train around 3,5 hours to go back and forth to the studio but I feel so much better and more feminine as the hairs get less!!
Now I feel like I am seeing results but still have a long way to go. I mean maybe if I am lucky I am halfway through!
The only thing I regret is not starting earlier. But maybe it’s for the better because I have PCOS and hair was still coming up on my chin, upper lip and nipples.
The only thing - now I can now wax/pluck my nipple hair, and feel like I don’t want to show it to anyone!! Before I could have one night stands and just before get rid of all the hair, now there is always some hair and redness and scabbing around my nipples 😭
I can not wait for this to be over, and the hair to be gone!!!! Nipple hair really feels the worst for me

When will sessions be less frequent?

I have had 4 sessions of electrolysis over the last 2-2,5 months every 2 weeks. I started with 45 mins for upper lip, chin, chest and nipples. The later 2 sessions were 30mins each for the same areas because the hair has already gotten a lot less (my chin has max 3 hairs to like 10 very thick before, and my nipples like 10-20 each compared to around 60)
So I have been wondering when it would make sense to switch to a longer pause between sessions. My technician said maybe next time but then we scheduled again for in 2 weeks.
I have a commute of 1.5 hours and really want the treatment to be effective and as fast as possible. But also my skin around my nipples for example gets very irritated and red after the treatment.

What would be a good indicator or time to switch to maybe 3 or 4 weeks in between?

150 EUR for 30 minutes

So I had my 3rd session today, and my electrologist told me that they adjusted the price from 100€ for 30 minutes to 150. I think I am already seeing some results now after the 3rd session. I do get a lot less regrowth and I don’t really feel much plucking when she does it. She also does a full clear every time (first two times 45 mins for 150€ and 3rd time 30 mins for 150€)
Now she said I am going to need at least 10 sessions, so 7 more. She said if I would pay for them now, she would propose them for the old price - so 700€ for 6 sessions. Does it sound like a good idea to buy this “packet”? Also I will probably have the 4th session with a 2 weeks break, and then probably 3 weeks break.

Already seeing results after 2nd session?

I want to know if I am being delusional…
So I have hormonal hair growth but mostly it’s mild. My upper lip, chin, chest and nipples are affected. The most dense areas are upper lip and nipples, before my first session I had around 50-60 hairs on each nipple and my upper lip maybe had 30 hairs per side.
I had two session and at the beginning my electrologist said I would maybe need around 10 but it’s hard to say.
Now after 2 full clearance treatments and around 4 weeks later, I have almost no new hair on my upper and chin. My nipples still have only around 20 hairs per side left.
I am wondering how many will still grow back until my 3rd appointment which is next Friday, so in around five days.
Could it be that a lot of hair is already destroyed, or is it just “plucked” out and will come back later?
I also think if the hair keeps staying away, after the third session it will only be worth it to go for 30 mins with a three week break, because already now after 9 days there is enough hair for maybe 30 mins.
Am I being too optimistic?

Regrowth in 2 weeks

I had my first 45 min session 5 days ago. My electrologist removed my upper lip hair, chin hair and nipple hair, in total maybe around 150 hairs. They said to immediately book the next appointment for in 2 weeks which I did.
The first days after the session my skin was red, bumpy, irritated and some whiteheads. Then it scabbed but is now looking fine.
But since my next appointment already is in 9 days, and I don’t have any new hairs now I am thinking if there will even be enough regrowth in that time. My nipples do have some hair, in total maybe 20 but other than that there’s nothing new.
Should I just wait a few more days? I don’t want to cancel the appointment too last minute but also feel like it would be too early to cancel already now.

First Session and already excited for the next one

I had my first 45 min session yesterday and the pain was really bearable, upper lip did bring some tears to my eyes but it was okay. I did get some red swollen dots and whiteheads today, but I think it’s not too noticeable.

I do have my next appointment for probably 30 min. In 2 weeks and I am so curious how many hairs are going to grow back until then and very excited to see the hair getting less and less. My electrologist said I was probably going to need around 10 sessions for the treated areas. I feel like it’s already so worth it even though I am not even really seeing results now, it’s just the feeling that the hair will be gone forever soon 🥰
