If you could recommend only one book for kindergarteners, what would it be?

My daughter is starting kindergarten soon and I want to build a small collection of books she’ll actually enjoy reading with me.

She likes funny stories and colorful pictures, but her attention span is all over the place right now. I’m hoping to find one book that kids genuinely love and ask to read again and again, not just something that looks good on a “best books” list. Bonus points if it’s also fun for parents to read out loud without getting tired of it after the tenth time.

We’ve tried a few random library picks and some were hits for one night while others got ignored halfway through.

If you could recommend only one book for kindergarteners, what would it be and why?
