My boy has developed a pin hole in his tail (it’s not Ich as the light shined through it) all the levels in his tank are reading normal (PH7 ammonia 0 nitrate 0 nitrite 0) I did have a fake plastic plant in there which has now been removed.
My concerns: he’s quite the dramatic boy and flares a lot, he’s always wanting to pick a fight even if you just walk into the room haha and my research said that this could have caused it but I’m also concerned about fin rot. If anyone more experienced has any opinions/advice it would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Edit: tank is 25L and temp is around 79/26C

As title suggests I’m worries about my betta Dantè being ill. I have some better pictures of him today but for context I’ve had him 3 days, his colours seem a little brighter and he’s crazy active and seems quite happy. But these scales around his face are making me nervous.

I’ve never owned a betta before and just want to make sure I’m doing best by him.

As title suggests I’ve never owned a betta before but luckily I had a pre cycled tank when I said I’d take this baby. He didn’t look like this when I brought him home he was in quite a sad state (listless drooping fins etc) so this is improvement. I’m just worried there may be something wrong with him (see the ridge along his side and his sometimes strange swim pattern) I’ve done research on owning a betta before this but never taken the plunge and this guy just happened to come into my life so any advice would be appreciated in terms of optimising his setup etc and if you spot any potential issues with the little guy. TIA !
