Seizures

Hi guys

I really need some advice, comfort and stories. A few days ago I adopted 7-year-old rescue podenco. She’s leishmania positive with Allopurinol medication (abt. 31 lbs, dosage 300mg daily).

She’s a lovely girl, so sweet and gentle and no bad habits at all. But she has been having seizures, five within a two-month period. During these she doesn’t lose her conscious but twisting and muscle spasms look really scary. During these she might pee and drools.

We are going to see the vet on next Thursday. We’ve also consulted her earlier and she’s fully aware about the situation since the beginning. Now I understood that some blood tests will be taken etc. So go to the vet’ is not particularly helpful advice at this point; I booked a time asap I saw the seizure with my own eyes.

But do I find here someone who’s been in a similar situation? What could cause these seizures? I understood that it could be epilepsy, dyskinesia, or even the Leishmania that has damaged her neuro system, or the worst, brain tumor. What was the diagnosis with your dog and how are you doing now?
