EPD curriculum
I applied to SUTD and I got in with scholarship. I guess that’s where I’m heading due to financial reasons. I’ve compared SUTD’s EPD curriculum (EE specialization track) with NUS and NTU’s EEE major, and noticed the lack of mathematic courses and technical electives available for someone who intends to work in chip design as a future career.
There has been a huge shift in 2025 ”to innovation rather than academia as the preferred pathway to success” quoted from the President. To current EPD students, how has this affected the overall curriculum of EPD?
It concerns me as I do not want to waste 4 years where I would just be designing projects of which I can do very well without help from a lecturer. And based on experience, what is needed is deep theoretical mathematics, understanding of physics and hardware and software architecture. Another question would be, how academically rigorous, by that I mean theoretically, are courses in EPD?
Thanks to those who can answer my concern!
