Recent Dark Horror Featuring a Witch and her Daughter During the War
There's a very recent movie that I was floored by, but I can't think of the title. The movie is set in America during the civil war I believe, in a beat-up cabin on a remote ranch settlement. All scenes were shot in this cabin except for the first part, when they arrive in a wagon and the mother is digging in the mud in the pouring rain in nearby woods. Her daughter is not allowed to sleep. Mother/witch straps her in a wheelchair contraption that is rigged to keep her head in a straight up position to prevent her from sleeping. The world will come to an end should her daughter fall asleep. There is an old injured general, dying on the floor. There is an young private (potential 'suitor') who comes around.
The promo image for this movie is a black and white silhouette.... If I remember correctly, the dark silhouette is of the witch, sitting on a hill, under a tree, or something similar. I just can't find it again. Is this familiar to anyone? What is the title of this movie?
