Meet Portugal (as a local)

So yah, I want to travel through Portugal. Actually meet my own country. I have been a homebody all my life, but FOMO is finally catching up to me, and I want to travel Portugal. I don't even know how I want to do this, but I have some ideas. I could do it by districts and cross them from my list or do it by zones (like Porto e Norte, Centro, Lisboa, Alentejo e Algarve). However I want to visit the largest number of cities possible and see all the good places.

I'm all in for walks and hikes through nature, visit hideouts in the middle of nowhere with lakes and waterfalls, I want to visit museums and theaters.
I would really appreciate it if someone had suggestions for places to visit, places to stay, and tips in general.

I live in the Porto area so I'm thinking about starting from the north and going down. I don't intent to travel it all in one go. Maybe do a week now that i'm off work and go somewhere, and eventually make my way around when i have the time. I also intent to visit Alentejo and down when its hotter out. For now I want to enjoy the soft sun with a breeze so i can go on my chill walks through the cities.
