Google page indexing common problems.

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a relatively new website hosted on Vercel with a custom domain. Google Search Console currently reports these indexing issues:

Page with redirect – 3

Soft 404 – 4

Discovered – currently not indexed – 29

Crawled – currently not indexed – 5

Duplicate, Google chose different canonical – 1

Alternative page with proper canonical tag – 0

So far I have:

Submitted an XML sitemap.

Fixed the www/non-www issue.

Added canonical tags.

Improved internal linking.

Requested indexing for important pages.

Ensured pages are not blocked by robots.txt or noindex.

I'm planning to:

Improve content on Soft 404 pages.

Add more internal links to pages that are discovered but not indexed.

Rewrite content on "Crawled – currently not indexed" pages to make them more unique.

Remove duplicate content and keep only the preferred canonical version.

My questions are:

Which issue should I prioritize first?

Is "Discovered – currently not indexed" normal for a new website, or is it a sign of a crawl budget/quality issue?

How long did it take for your pages to move from "Discovered" to indexed?

Any additional tips to speed up indexing without violating Google's guidelines?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Thanks!

Started a news website 3 months ago. Got 104 impressions and 43 clicks from Google. Looking for feedback.

I've been building a small news website and working on SEO, web stories and content publishing.

After 3 months, Search Console shows 104 impressions and 43 clicks.

What would you focus on next to grow search traffic faster
