Give hand command
After a few days of training, my dog finally learned the “give hand” command!
I started by rewarding him every time he lifted his paw, even by accident. Then I added the command “give hand” and gradually only rewarded him when he offered his paw after hearing it. Today he did it consistently without any treats in my hand, and I couldn’t be happier.
It’s such a simple trick, but seeing him understand what I’m asking and get excited to learn has been really rewarding. He’s been getting lots of praise and treats for his hard work.
