Sorry if this doesn't exist and I'm sending you on a wild goose chase, and I may be mixing up some different creatures, but I recall some kind of mythological snake that was the enemy of birds, or mythological bird that was the enemy of snakes. And it originated on a mythical island I believe. Maybe it's slavic in origin, uncertain. Thank you in advance if someone figures it out or comes up with something close.
